The only information on the face of this watch is the time, day and date making it extremely easy for young kids to absorb. There’s no other distracting words or symbols that might look cool but can be confusing or distracting to a young person learning to keep time for themselves. My son loves it and actually uses it. I got the XSm which is a good size for a kid up to around 80lbs. In my opinion. The watch piece connected to the band is about 1.25 inches. And I'm glad he does or I would have returned it. From setting the time to 3 days later it's already 6 minuets behind. It also feels very light and cheap for the price. It does fit well, and it's very bright and vibrant. The clock face itself does not light up instead there is a light at the top corner that shines on over the face not making it much easier to read in the dark as we walk to the bus in the mornings. He loves all the light modes and it's a very straight forward watch with just the time and nothing extra or fancy on it. Purchased it primarily for my 9 year old son so he would know when its time to come back home. He plays soccer nearby every evening and I did not want anything pricey that could easily brake if a ball hits it or if he fells on it. So far so good.
