  • Work well; comfortable
Style: Black
These are nicely made and very comfortable socks that slide on easily to near the top of the calf. They are soft and comfortable and are pretty warm even without using the batteries. The three heat levels can be set from the batteries themselves or using the bluetooth app on a phone. I did not bother to add the app to my phone, but if you find that you need to frequently adjust settings, the app would be handy. The batteries attach easily to the cable and they button into a pocket at the top of the sock. There was some tendency for the sock tops to slide down and this would definitely be the case if you were running, skiing hard, etc. Personally, I did not find it a problem because heating the foot itself is unaffected. I've used them only once so far on a chilly day doing yard work at about 30 degrees F (-1 C) and they definitely helped. I had them on medium setting and they kept my feet just warm enough. Real test will be to see how well they help when I'm cycling to work at 20 degrees below (F)! That will take at least another month. I'll update then! The only problem I encountered was that the heating wires in one sock (which are encased between two layers of fabric) nevertheless got wedged between a couple toes. It was uncomfortable enough that I had to remove and readjust the sock. ... show more

  • Comfortable fit for a men's size 11, good warmth
Style: Black
As stated in the header, I wear a men's size 11 and found these to be a comfortable fit. The socks are roughly calf-length on me (5' 11") and are not overly tight at the cuff. The battery pocket is a good size, keeping the battery snug against the leg, but roomy and stretchy enough to make getting the battery in and out easy. The pocket is secured with a button, which is easy to open one handed. The heating element wraps around the instep of the foot with a section going under the toes. This works well enough though I wouldn't mind if they went over the toes as well (just a personal preference thing). I'm suspect about installing applications, but the ease of temperature control kind of won out. On the app store, this app has a low rating, but most of the reviews cite either connectivity issues between whatever device and the socks, or between the app and the phone (crashing on launch and such). I've no issues with the app and the controls have worked quite well so far. The socks have three temperature settings (104F, 122F, and 140F), but this earlier in the season I've only had cause to use the lowest setting. It has been more than sufficient so far. While there are other socks close to this price range, these seem to me to priced pretty high ($80 at the time of this review), hence the star knocked off. ... show more

  • Compression style, heat great
Style: Gray
These are very tight for a typical man's calf. The material is soft and stretchy but not much room for larger legs- you might be ok if you have thinner legs. Unfortunately, the foot is too big for my wife (who says they are snug but not uncomfortable in the leg). If you are ok with the compression fit and you don't have large calves, then these are fine and heat efficiently. I'm guessing they made them so tight because the battery packs would cause them to sag down otherwise, but just be aware they aren't a leisure sock. Your feet will be warm though! ... show more

  • Nice to have in cold environments
Style: Gray
Right away I took two stars off because of the price and that it really doesn't warm my entire foot. I would have given it 3.5 stars if I could. Otherwise its a great product to have. It's not cold in my area but my wife and I love to go camping. I wanted these socks because they will likely be helpful outdoors during chilly nights. They are pretty good socks as it turns out - just too pricey for my liking. The material is soft and warm. There are wires in the socks but the socks are thick enough to prevent you from really feeling the wires. So the socks stay comfortable despite the electrical components. The socks come to about knee height so they'll keep your legs warm too! Unfortunately the heat is mostly felt around the toes and presumably it will travel up your foot, ankle and legs. However, I did not feel any heat beyond my toes. Still, the socks themselves were pretty warm and usually its only my toes that get really cold anyway. As far as how hot these socks got - well for me they didn't get very hot. I would think, however, a person probably wouldn't want them to be much hotter anyway. On the other hand my wife thought the socks got very hot. Again, my issue with the warmth was that it didn't run up my foot and legs. It stayed pretty close to my toes. The socks come with a little laundry bag to wash them. I think this was a smart and nice touch. This way their is way less worry something will break. There are two batteries - one per sock. They charge using a dual USB-C cable that comes included. They are easy to turn on and adjust with the push of a button. You don't need to download the app. I haven't seen the app and so I won't be reviewing it. The app apparently has an extra feature for controlling the heat. The batteries themselves feel a little heavy but you barely notice them while wearing the socks. I did not wear the socks long enough to test how long the batteries last. Ultimately you place the battery inside a little pouch on the sock and plug in a little wire to it. Very easy. If you think about it... if you were to go to any camping store you could find socks without the heat and batteries for about $25 - $30. So the price of these socks are really about $40 for the heat and Bluetooth capability plus the $30 socks. I think this is too pricey for what you ultimately get. But, they are nice socks and they will be nice to have in cold environments. ... show more

  • Not what I expected
Style: Black
These socks are not what I expected when I opened the package. They actually looked very bulky at first. But when I put them on they ended up being comfortable with some slight compression which made it nice. The heating takes a little to feel. I wish it got a tad bit warmer. Also the heat is only at the toe area. I do like the control by phone app. That makes it very convenient. The only thing is I can’t tell when then battery is fully charged by looking at the battery itself unless I’m missing something. Overall a good choice. ... show more
