I'm a male with long hair 8" past my shoulders with probably 2A on top and 3A curls everywhere else. Imagine Jason Mamoa's hair with the bottom half spiral curls. I had stress-induced hair loss (maybe 30%) that's growing back now. I was reluctantly going to cut it for this reason as it looked thin to me. This product is amazing. My hair looks as full as before. Curls are defined and I live in S. FL humidity. I don't need a lot and I'm someone that usually uses a lot. I use 3 pea sized dollops after towels drying, sometimes a little mouse. My hair is everywhere in the morning so the next day I just splash a little water in it, scrunch and it's good for another day. There's some scent, but it doesn't bother me. I used to use leave in conditioner and mouse, but this looks much fuller, curls are defined, and my hair is soft like there was no product, just well behaved hair. I didn't know this product existed until my hairdresser used it on me a couple times. Between the beautiful scent and the curls, I had to get some for myself. I got a small sample bottle in December (about half the size of this one) and it's the end of March now and it's not even gone yet. Got this big bottle so I don't run out. Sure, it's expensive but a little truly goes a long way so it'll last a long time. People complain about it being crunchy but I don't have a problem with that if I scrunch my hair with a diffuser, which I do every day. My curls are always on point with this stuff. I was first introduced to this product at a new hair salon I started going to back in September. I have naturally wavy hair, but if left to airdry it is frizzy as hell. When I left the salon that first time, I was amazed. Since, I happen to notice that Amazon sells it too which actually is only a few dollars cheaper than at the salon, so price wise no big savings. But the serum works amazing on wavy hair and leaves my hair soft and with a beachy wave to it. I use it on my hair each time I wash it which is every 3-4 days. Love the product ... show more

For my fine 2c/3a hair I have observed that this product works best when used without any other gels or creams. It also needs heat to really do its magic, so it is importantly to diffuse or however you heat style. With these caveats I find that it makes my hair feel light and soft. I love the scent, very elegant and understated. I use a little more than a dime size as I have shoulder length hair and a lot of it. ... show more

    • 1/2 Way Thru the Bottle & Still...
...trying to decide if I like this product, or not. So it's not truly a "recommend" from me. The serum helps, somewhat, to define the parts of my hair that are super-curly. What I'm really disappointed with, though, is that the product doesn't do anything to help hold curl where my hair is wavy and needs something to encourage curl. There's a lot of serum in the bottle, which is great if it works for you, but it's an expensive item if you invest in it and find it just makes your hair crunchy, which it does do to mine. Also leaves my hands really sticky. Maybe I'm using a bit too much, but I keep trying to make the stuff DO something. Okay...I think I've decided: I'm definitely not wild about This Is A Curl Building Serum 'cause well, it doesn't build curl. Not at all. And it has crappy staying power; I feel like I put it into my hair and in a short while it's not there, anymore. Doesn't seem to hydrate or add shine, either. What IS this product really for? Hmm. Amazing product!! Have never had wash ‘n’ go hair until now!!! I put this incredible serum onto my wet hair and go to sleep…Perfect spirals/coils/curls on my extremely coarse, naturally curvy/curly hair. Love it!!!
