I only bought this because of all the great things I hear, and its reported resemblance to Creed's Green Irish Tweed (which I can't afford). The first time I smelled this stuff in a department store, I was instantly turned off from the sharp, heavy floral scent, but don't let that turn you away. My guess is that is has to be that sharp in order to project the mellow, watery fragrance that is intended when it mixes with the air. Try spraying some on your wrist then putting your wrist in front of a fan, and smell the air that comes off. This gives you a good idea about how you smell to others. Apply conservatively, 3 sprays at the most. Done right, this cologne gives off a cool, fresh, masculine, aquatic, green scent that will have people thinking you sh*t sunshine and definitely lives up to its name "Cool Water". Apply too much and you'll be smelling like a bathroom air freshener and you will really offend people. As I said, a concentrated whiff of this stuff does not have a particularly pleasant smell and can be headache inducing. Longevity is average, 5 hours at the most. Sillage and projection is impressive! People WILL smell you when you wear this, so again, apply conservatively. I can't stress that enough. Also this cologne mixes great with my sweat! Many men do not care much for this cologne, but I've read it drives women crazy (I have yet to test this). It's inexpensive and has well earned its place in my collection. I've been using this cologne almost exclusively, and essentially daily, for nearly 15 years , and I keep buying more. The value for the price can't be beat considering some alternatives are 2-8x the price, and many just don't have the low key but still noticeable scent this one does. Over the years I've gotten lots of compliments from women while wearing this (including married women, wanting to buy some for their husbands!). It is a relatively 'manly' scent but not overbearing, and it pairs well with any deodorant. Other colognes that I've tried are more 'in your face' and can get irritating for extended periods, whereas cool water kind of fades into the background and I never really notice I have it on. It smells clean and fresh and never irritates my sinuses like some other colognes I've tried. CW is quite popular, which isn't ideal since I like to keep things unique, but then again there's a reason for its popularity especially given its reliability and versatility. If you're on the fence between this and something like Aqua di gio, you really should at least give CW a try. ... show more
