  • Excellent deal fast, well packaged, and all current product.
Size: Case of 5
Manufacturing < 30 days from order. Since i am currently munching on a pack I had in a another lot put away, EXP '18, still taste perfectly fine. 4y PAST expiry! (Stored in airtight, dark cool place) so the exp date is a CYA or maybe *if* stored in extremes? These things are well made, if stored correctly, they seem to keep forever. Since my NRG-5 advertise 20y shelf life, but taste no where near as good, they are good to mix it up as well. Very happy, will stock more over time. ... show more

  • Check Expiration Date
Size: Case of 5
The packaging is good. They are heavy for their size. Very condensed. They did not taste poorly. I'll definitely use them if need be. My only issue is they're not "fresh". They've sat in warehousing for a year already. My dates show it was made march of last year and it expires in 2026. So I'm actually only getting 4 years out them. Not 5. For that I give 4/5 stars. 5 was already in the low end for what I was looking for. ... show more

  • Just in case
Size: Case of 5
One of the five units lost its vacuum the first week. Which gave me an opportunity to sample the bars. I will say the bar was not very tasty. It was also crumbly and hard to eat. The got sweeter the longer I chewed, which was good. They would work well in a survival situation, when all other options are exhausted. The bars inside each unit are individually wrapped in plastic. I will keep a small supply of these due to my experience and the value. ... show more

  • Received as advertised.
Size: Case of 5
Came exactly as advertised. Opened some up and vacuum sealed them into smaller portions so they're lighter and less bulkier to carry on the move, especially when moving cross-country. Packed some in my BOB, and then stashed the rest with some MRE's and whatnot. 200 Kcals per bar, not bad. They taste fine, but they can be thirst-provoking so have some water handy lol. All in all, would order again. ... show more

  • Probably the best value for ready-to-eat emergency foods
Size: Case of 5
When bought in bulk, it's hard to beat the price - you get about 550 kcal per dollar for something that's ready to eat, fairly balanced nutritionally, quite palatable, and non-perishable. You could get more calories for your buck by stockpiling staples such as rice, sugar, or vegetable shortening - but then, you actually need to prepare something edible out of that. In contrast to many other sugary "emergency bars", such as Millennium Energy, the taste of Datrex bars isn't overwhelming, and they aren't insanely sweet. They have a mild, crumbly, biscuit-like consistency and a cookie-like flavor with a hint of coconut. It's actually something you can conceivably enjoy in a non-emergency setting. With a reasonable blend of carbs, fat, and protein, and with some vitamins thrown in, they are also probably quite OK for medium-term survival if it ever comes to that. The only major drawback is the hefty weight. For hiking or bugging out, you're probably better off with freeze-dried foods, such as Mountain House. ... show more

  • tastes quite good, and doesn't leave me extra thirsty
I keep these in my emergency supplies. I always try to test my emergency equipment before stowing it away to make sure I have an idea of what to expect when I need to rely on my equipment. I've previously purchased other emergency food bars and ration packs, but these Datrex bars are unconditionally my go-to bar now. I tend not to worry about making sure I have the healthiest ingredients in emergency food -- what I need is durability and affordability. Turns out Datrex makes an affordable product that is quite healthy (at least compared to much of the competition), performs well stored in my car all year, tastes quite good, and doesn't leave me extra thirsty. Definitely a winner in my book! Now I just supplement these with a few MRE rations so I can have some heated food available for a few evenings with extra emotional comfort in times of stress. ... show more

  • One of the BEST Emergency Food Bar on the market today
Size: Case of 5
I have ordered and had to use this product before. It is very reliable and meets all it's claims. We have kit bags that we rotate or update every 3-5 years. This is a very reliable Emergency Food Bar case to order. I have done research on others this Emergency Food Bar was the best we found and tested. I will be ordering them again. ... show more

  • Good emergency food ration or camping/hiking food.
Size: Case of 5
These are as advertised. Thye fill you up and are tasty. Light and easy to carry. Last a long time. You need to seal up the pack or replace in a ziplock to keep them from drying out. Have plenty of water to drink with them as they are sort of dry.
