I’ll try and mention several things that aren’t covered in any other review on here. First off I’m very disappointed in the big toy companies for not making hardly any “real life” play sets for die cast cars. This is where Daron is different, they make real life sets. (They need more model buildings tho) My kids don’t want a dragon or something stupid with a track attached to play with their die cast cars. They want police stations, garages, gas stations, etc. We have been kit bashing a die cast car city for them and this was the perfect addition. First off this kit is better than I expected, I thought by looking at the pictures that the back section behind the pumps was a piece of cardboard. It’s actually pretty thick plastic with a sticker on it. Adds to the quality and looks great. The fuel nozzles are removable from the pumps if your kiddos want to pretend to fill the cars with gas. I was worried the tabs holding them to the pumps would get broken. The entire black nozzle including the “tabs” are pliable rubber. These are much more durable than I thought they would be, and will stand up to repeated removal and reinserting while playing. Stickers: **Apply all stickers prior to assembly**, then assemble parts in order listed in the instructions. I used a very sharp brand new utility knife blade, placed the corner of the small stickers on the tip of the blade and was able to easily position the stickers perfectly every time. I spent probably more time than I should have applying the stickers because I wanted them lined up exactly. They fit very well in the places they are supposed to go. That being said, for the longer one that goes around the convenient store part, start with the side closest to the door. when you get to the corner where it’s supposed to wrap around, make a straight precision cut right along the corner so you end up with a separate sticker for the other side. I had to loosen one screw in the base because it’s not straight on the smaller side farthest from the door. I applied the sticker to the building, this way the sticker slides behind the base. If you only wrap the sticker around the corner it will be horribly crooked. I used a small amounts of testors cement for plastic models. It’s in one of my pics and please note it’s not included in the kit. Glue is definitely not required but I want this kit to hold up to lots of play from my little ones. I glued all the base parts together, I glued the pumps, building, price sign, and back support wall to the base, and I glued the roof on. **do not use super glue** it discolors plastic if you have any squish out / try to wipe it off. Model cement for plastic is the way to go. There was another version of this model that used to be on amazon where the button on top opened the front door that says employees only. The older version used to make sounds too. This particular model doesn’t make sounds (I like that, no batteries to replace) The button on top makes the glass sliding doors open, it’s so cool. Last but not least, one other review mentions the included die cast car included is of low quality. The first thing my youngest said about this kit is “hey daddy look the car is real metal, I like it”. (Note the tank is plastic) They hate the new all plastic type hot wheels cars. Honestly the truck in the pics looks a little junky. I was impressed with the one I actually received, it’s just as good as any matchbox and freaking awesome it was included. On a side note the other two cars in my pics are not included, just to show scale. Over all I love the quality of this kit and the amazing detail. Perfect for anyone from a collector all the way to just kids using it for play. It’s worth $24. I may buy a second so they each have their own, bc the only problem I see with this kit is I think they will fight over it because it’s so cool. Spot on Daron! Nice job on this one. ... show more

  • A toy for older kids or adults
As a 1/64 scale diecast collector, I really liked this item and it is really priced right as other dioramas at this scale would normally cost you a pretty penny. Requires some assembly, but I really enjoy assembling these kind of things, so not a problem for me. I would only give this to a 14+ year old or of you know your kid has mechanical simpathy at younger age then you may be okay, thing is, the toy is kind of delicate. Only the decals form inside the store come pre applied, the rest you will need to put yourself. The store also has a sliding door which opens on the press of a button in the roof. The toy car included is really not the best, but you can tell that from the pictures and I would wagger most people buy this item for the actual gas station and not the included car. Yet, I find it important to mention that it is metal body, plastic base and plastic tires. The reason this vehicle is lackluster is because it is too small to be 1/64 scale and the decorations are decals not painted. ... show more

  • Flimsy--Needs Locking Mechanisms
Well, to be honest, I had two windows open looking at mini gas stations for my three year old to play with, and I meant to buy the other one and added this one to my cart instead. I didn't realize this until I opened the box but thought, "How different can they be?" The answer: very different. At first I was excited to put this product together. The directions were clear and there were lots of realistic stickers, so my hopes were high for the product. They began to sink as I put it together, not because it was hard, but because nothing STAYED. Nothing clicks and stays in place, and one piece, the third pump on the end, doesn't even fit into the holes at all. The sign is held up by a single peg inserted into a hole in the base, and it doesn't snap in, so much three-year-old son continuously takes it out. The one pump doesn't fit into the other pumps (seemingly) exact same holes, and it frequently comes out as my son plays with the little black pumps. The doors open and close just fine at the push of a big blue button, and, admittedly, it delights my son. The problem is that the roof canopy and backdrop easily knock over and out of a place, causing a cascade of other posts to fall. It's not hard to put back together, it's just an incredible nuisance that interrupts my son's imaginary play, and he's too little to reassemble on his own. Forget about picking it up and moving it as a unit because the five or six interlocking pavement pieces on the bottom pop out when lifted with extreme care, and then you're putting it together literally from the ground up. I'm rating two stars, instead of one, because my son does love driving his Matchbox and Disney Cars in and out of it, but he can't consistently play with it, so it's disappointing for me watching him try so hard to maintain his level of fun.I may superglue the pieces in and see if they stay better from this point forward. The company should consider redesigning with secure locking mechanisms to encourage sustained play. ... show more

  • Looks so perfect like a real gas station
I took another reviewer’s advice and added the many tiny decals before I put it together. It’s very cute. I don’t find it flimsy at all. Perfect scale for HotWheels.
