These are pretty basic socks. Nothing special. Just a step above a tube sock in fit. Not sure why Darn Tough couldn't put a little more thought and technology into them. I have wanted for years to try the Lightweight Crew but was turned off by the price. However I cannot wear my midweight hikers year round and after nearly a decade of abuse for most pairs I took the dive. After just 3 hours of wearing these indoors the heel ripped the threads. I have to give 1* for the threads and 1* for the customer service because Darn Tough makes you pay to ship the socks to them and then they'll provide you a pair if they deem it worthy. To me that is not how a lifetime warranty works, especially when the product they sell you fails in the first 3 hours of use. Avoid lightweight crew sucks from Darn Tough - they are not special and they do not hold up to the name. In fact - their quality or lack there of makes me question all DT purchases moving forward. I bought one pair, then, later, two more, and just now, three more pairs. These have become my standard socks. Have to wash them once or twice to tighten the fit. These are made so well, so very well, that the value is there even though the price is high. I have black wool socks I bought from Outlier, Wool & Prince, and Nordstrom. They are all quite good.
