  • dippity doo DAP dippity day - I bought this in the colour grey. . .
Color: Gray
Bought 2 tubes actually. I had to plug up a few dozen holes in the floor where lag bolts used to be. This stuff worked GREAT!!! - after I figured out that the hole and floor around it had to be clean - which is what I would have known if I read the instructions first. These holes are in a floor that has been treated with an epoxy coat, so it was important to sweep, brush hole with wire tooth-brush tool, and wipe away all the fine dust with a damp cloth. Next day I plugged the holes with DAP and calk gun. Needed some good grip strength to work the caulk gun. It gets easier as the tube empties out. I FORGOT a putty knife to make the plugs flat to the floor with a little bit of a collar around each hole for sealing. Greg cardboard worked fine. Set up was about a day, and 3 days later we were moving stuff over the holes and the DAP held in fine. I like this stuff, and probably will tend to buy it if I need it here again or at home. It is a little more expensive than some of the other products, but it is worth it for its durability. Oh, it was a little smelly during application, but smell was gone the next day. ThankS! : ) ... show more

  • Good product
Color: Gray
This is a high quality sealant. As some reviews stated it is somewhat harder to get out of the caulking gun than latex or silicone caulk but you can get it to work correctly with a good quality caulking gun. I will purchase this again for use on metal roofing.

  • Works well
Color: Gray
It just seems that every time I use it it's pretty stiff and if you're using a handcocking gun you really have to pull on it if you have a power caucker it'll be okay

  • One of best caulking materials out there.
Color: Gray
If you are looking for a super durable waterproof caulk this is the real deal. Not sure why but neither of the two big box home improvement stores carry it. I’ve used it for caulking around windows and doors as well as areas where concrete butts up against wood ( sidewalk and patio areas). It’s very sticky when you apply it. When this stuff dries and cures, it becomes very firm but still flexible. Its consistency is like a hard rubber. Very durable. One minor heads-up - The stuff is very difficult to squeeze out of the tube with a caulk gun. You would need the hand strength of an adult Orangutan to do it. I ended up using a heat gun to warm it up so it was easier to apply. ... show more

  • Works Great & Easy To Use
Color: Gray
Used this to seal the space between a poured concrete patio and the cinder block foundation of the house. 50+ years of settling had caused the patio to slant toward the house and separate from the cinder block by 1/4" to 3/4". Water collected there and has seeped into the basement. I had previously sealed this with silicone sealant, but over the years that separated from the patio and the water seepage resumed. During a recent downpour (3" of rain in 45 minutes), the water seepage was significant. I researched to see what else was available and came up with this product. The description of what it would do fit my needs perfectly and the reviews so far were excellent. I had to use some backfill material since the spaces were pretty deep in spots. I did two applications, filing the space about 1/2 way up the first time; waited a few days and did then the second application. I used 4 tubes. I found it easy to use and the results look good. In a subsequent downpour there was no seepage at all. This was done in July with temperatures in the upper 80's. I wonder what will happen when the weather gets cold this winter and the patio shrinks; will the sealant hold? Time will tell; I'll try to update this review late next spring with my observations. ... show more

  • Wow. This stuff is a challenge to apply.
Color: Gray
Obviously, this is a quality product based on reviews. However, if you're a novice at applying caulk, I highly suggest you skip this product. The first challenge is trying to get the product to come out of the caulk gun. Left in sun for two hours, no luck. The tube finally burst and then the real fun began. It has the consistency of chewing gum. I ended up applying and smoothing out with my finger. The end result was NOT a pretty caulk line but a messy one. I'm sure a professional caulker could apply this product easily if they're able to get the product to come out of the tube, but not an amateur. In a nutshell, if you enjoy playing with sticky chewing gum, this is your jam! ... show more

  • Used with foundation flashing
Color: Black
On occasion, it rains so hard that water seeps under the foundation flashing. I repaired the boards and wanted an adhesive/sealant that would prevent water from seeping under the flashing (the red line I drew in the image). I actually called the Dap company and spoke to a representative about my needs. The guy was super helpful and this is the product recommended. It's been in place 2 years now and appears to work great. As others have mentioned, the stuff is very sticky so when you are using it wear gloves or the nitrile gloves. ... show more
