  • Perfect work boot for me.
Size: 7.5 Color: Brown
These boots fit perfectly right out of the box with 0 break in time. I wore these for an 8 hr volunteer event the day after they arrived. I was moving bails of hay and mucking stalls so there were plenty of opportunities for typical discomfort with any type of new boot. I would recommend Amazon try before you buy. I am usually an 8.5 in any shoe/boot but the 7.5 fit like it was made for me. The only thing I changed after that first day were the insoles because I have high arches. Also make sure you wear high socks, I got a little chafed on my calves. Those were the only 2 discomforting aspects about these things I have experienced and I am writing this review 1 month after purchase. The quality of these is outstanding and YouTube reviews say they are "bargain" boots. Oh they are totally waterproof like they say, I stepped in a 8" puddle and didn't get wet. They look as great as they preform!!!! They clean up easy aswell. I was worried because another guy on here said he received a pair that should not have been sold and were crappy and stiff his entire time owning them so watch out for that. I highly recommend them because they are great and their look is simple, efficient and that makes them classic and elegant. ... show more

  • Nice boots - updated to GREAT!
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
I asked for and received these boots as a Christmas present. I chose my size based on a pair of boots I already owned, and these fit the same. It took me a while to get them on the first time, but that's to be expected when boots fit properly. Once I got my feet in them they fit perfectly. If I could have easily slipped them on initially, then they would be too large in a few weeks. I used a hair dryer to loosen the leather up so I could wear them initially. I love the look and feel of these boots. New they have the look of old leather - in a good way. They are not flashy, but they are very attractive. I haven't had a chance to see how they do in wet conditions, but I fully expect them to handle most work situations well. This may be one of my favorite presents this year! ------ Edit on January 29, 2014 After nearly a month the boots are still a little tough to put on. I contacted the seller who was willing to accept a return at a discount because they have been worn but helpfully recommended a local boot steamer to stretch them out a half size. However, after yesterday there is no way that I will return the boots. Yesterday was Snowmageddon 2014 in my city. I had to ditch my car and walk 8 miles home in the snow and 20F / -7C temps. I wore these boots and a pair of wool socks and never once did my feet feel cold. They were perfectly comfortable for the entire walk and never a bit damp on the inside. Yes, I want to stretch the boots a bit, but I can't think of anything I would have wanted on my feet for that long, hilly, cold, wet walk home. ... show more

  • These boots are now made in china.
Size: 11 Color: Brown
Heel is shown as a multilayer, laminated wood/leather (the way they used to be made) but it is in fact a single, molded piece of hollow plastic all of the normal pressure, from standing or walking, is focused on the outer edges of the plastic molded heel, which causes premature wearing/failure of the rubber heel pad. Since the heel Pad is only glued on around the outside edge (since it is the only surface area available) the heel pad becomes detached & gets pushed up into the hollow space in the heel. My last pair of Dan Post Albuquerque boots lasted over 2 years. This pair was purchased & worn down to an unusable condition in under 5 months. I will not be purchasing any more Dan Post products. ... show more

  • Excellent Boots for Cosplay and General Purposes
Size: 9.5 X-Wide Color: Brown
I don't like boots in general. I wanted a pair for Renn Faires and for use with my Jedi robes. They're heavy, they can be a dog to put on and take off, and it's a crapshoot when you order them online. They're either too big, too small or come in full sizes that either crush your feet or leave you with nasty blisters. Do NOT waste your money on "costume" boots either. They are typically vinyl, and they feel like they're going to fall apart as soon as you slip them on. Your feet are worth saving up the money and getting a good pair that you can use any day. All griping aside, I was quite pleased to receive the Dan Post boots. Not only do they fit well, they are very comfortable, and once they are broken in, I anticipate many happy years of walking in these boots. They are nice and warm, too. Dan Post boots, quite unlike the boots I mentioned before, are well constructed and have a solid, rugged feel. If you are looking for solid, comfortable boots, invest in Dan Post Boots. They are well worth the money, and they look great. ... show more

  • This is a Boot!!!
Size: 8.5 X-Wide Color: Brown
I have purchased this boot several times the last being in ‘16. Although I liked and wore that boot, it just didn’t seem quite right from a standard of look. However, when I buy a quality product I stay with it until something tells me not to. I purchased a bit larger this time because my old seemed a bit tight, but that’s really an age & weight item, not the boot. I couldn’t be happier with I believe my 4th. Purchase and they tend to look good too until about 3 years when I’ve abused them so badly they become strictly work boots. Wish they were entirely made in the USA, their plant in China is the largest in the country but at least they’ve kept the quality. Regards & Cheers to Dan Post Boots! ... show more
