This is my second chest protector. The first was for moto-dirt-biking, but I wanted one I could comfortably wear when Mt. biking. I like and rated this DA armor a five. There are minor caveats, but this is a keeper. * easy on / easy off * it's light yet feels strong and provides good front and back protection * the back two panels are hinged for better movement * the inner contact points both front and back stand away from the shell for good ventilation The two sides can be separated, not sure why, because you can easily slip it over your head. The sides connect with Velcro straps and I have them 3/4 of the way latched. I'm not a fan of any Velcro fasteners, they aren't the best for longevity in my experience. Once I get the adjustment where I want it, I'm going to put a stitch in each side to hold it in place. There were no size choices when it was ordered, and upon arrival the tag on it notes XL/XXL, this worried me a bit before I tried it on, but the fit was just fine and I'm a medium size in most all my sportswear. I like chest protectors to be snug but comfortable, (it's not going to do its job if it's sliding all around) but this DA product feels good even when snugged up. I have the side straps drawn in to about 5/8s of there adjustment range. If the elastic holds up over time/use I should be OK. If you're bigger, there's plenty of strap length to get a good fit. It's not too obtrusive so you could wear a jersey over it if you like that look. Even without any minor tweaks, this DA chest armor is a very nice product. ... show more

Motorcycle Armor ... Made of thick rigid plastic with breathable mesh venting and a tactical look. The entire vest weighs just 26.8 ounces. The wide elastic waist bands are buckle adjustable, and have quick release fasteners for easy on/off. The wide over-shoulder straps are hook/loop adjustable. The comfortable inner padding feels secure over a t-shirt, while the design allows free range of motion. The photo shows me wearing the armor ... I'm 6 foot and 235 pounds. Got this motorcycle protective clothing piece in exchange for a Vine review. Was surprised that it fit both a 205 lb 5'12 man and a 135 lb 5'4 teen and both well when using the velcro to adjust it. The outside seems pretty tough and could take a fall but the inside is comfortable and cushioned. We don't ride motorcycles but one of us rides dirt bikes and four wheelers at an wilderness type off road adventures place often. I'm always concerned about the safety because they can get rough and dirty on the trails so every time I see something to add protection in sparks my interest. This piece was cool enough looking that the teen didn't turn up his nose at it and instead liked it. It's easy on and easy off and adjustable and not too heavy he said. The price isn't bad at under $50 currently. You can wear it over your tshirt or under a more oversized type shirt. Just makes me feel better with more protection. ... show more

Have been looking for an affordable MTB chest and back protector for my husband and this is not bad. He is looking forward to using it out in the trails soon. He is 6’2”, about 215 lbs. Looks really nice on him, fits just right and the quality of the material is outstanding. He says it’s is pretty comfortable and would be even better over his bike jersey.
