Classic Goldilocks. Some were too big and bulky, many were minimalist and though CE rated, didn’t give me assurance. This one is perfect for the coverage I want (full back, some around flank, optional shoulder). I like having the option to wear elbow pads separately. And the M/L fits me perfectly. 6’0, 185 lbs. Haven't gotten to ride with it yet but tried it on and it seems top notch. lots of venting which is what i was looking for. but the protection seems like it is still very good. I'm 5'10" / 175lbs and the md/Lg fits great. I like how I can remove the shoulder pads if i want to for easier dual sport rides but still have the option to easily put them back on for when we hammer it on enduro rides. ... show more

This protection has the best back coverage of all the ones available on the market. The shoulder pads are absolutely useless - they're just two pieces of sponge. If they were plastic, then they might be of some use, but as they are, they're not. Plus, they press against your armpits. If you want to protect not only your chest but also your back, this protection is the best. Better than Leatt, O'neil, and others. ... show more

These are great. I really like the chest protector. I am 5'7" 140 lb. The small size feels a tiny bit short, but the entire including shoulders fits under my riding jacket. My jacket has no chest protection so I like to wear it but it's also good alone and very breathable but the shoulders are thin

    • Saved me from a broken collarbone
Used for DH mountain biking. Took a huge, hard spill at windrock doing a jump. If it wasn't for this I'm pretty sure I would have had a broken collarbone and broken ribs.     • Better than cheaper alternatives
Last week, I was riding my Yamaha Raptor 700 in the rain and I was feeling fearless and it flipped over on a turn. I flew off the bike and landed on my side. I'm 52 years old, so falling hard could be an issue. Well, I didn't break anything as far as i can tell but i'm still experiencing some pain about 5 days later. Anyway, my son has been using this chest/back protector and although it is pricey, i ordered one for myself. it just arrived and I tried it on. it actually covered the area i fell on. If i was wearing this, i wouldn't have gotten injured. I have tried on other protectors and they don't have the coverage of this one. Also, they feel really cheap in comparison. I'm 5'10" 170 lbs and the M/L fits good. Good coverage and just as comfortable as any other chest protector. Lighter than I thought. Works under or over my jersey and I wear a backpack style tool/hydration pack with it.

The only reason I ordered this is because it has adjustable shoulder pads... but they don't come with it! The image is misleading, showing a vest and shoulders and was one of the top 3 results when I searched for chest and shoulder pads! So expensive for just a chest plate.
