  • Happy with purchase
Size: 1/8 - Size
Definitely much better quality than the first violin we purchased so maybe that's why I'm super happy with it. Sounds great, comes with everything you could need to get started on lessons!

  • Got scared for a second
Size: 4/4 - Full Size
When I first took it out and tested the sound I got nothing. My heart sank. Figured I was doing something wrong, but I didn't think I could fail bad enough to not even get a single note! Looked online and found out I had to apply the resin, which I didn't notice at first until I opened the little cubby. After several minutes of applying that I was finally able to get my first notes and connect with my new instrument. Couldn't be happier with this, it sounds beautiful and I can't really ask for more. Thanks guys! ... show more

  • [EDITTED] Bridge was not cut correctly
Size: 4/4 - Full Size
The brdige that this thing came with was not set correctly. @ isses: 1/ Feet are not in full contact with the body - you can still see light shining through it 2/ The height was not correctly adjusted. There was a ~8mm gap between the G string and the board. Correct Distance should be ~ 5 mm. Same issue for the other strings. It sounds small, but that makes a huge difference in playing. It's not play-ready. Don't buy this if you don't know how to adjust the bridge yourself ... show more

  • Review of Snow Violin 400
Size: 3/4 - Size
I have been a professional violinist in and outside of the United States for the past 30 years and was looking for an affordable and good sounding violin to serve as my secondary violin. I am very pleasantly surprised by the very nice sound of this wellmade violin and feel confident that it will serve me very well for years to come. ... show more

  • $50-$100 more may get you better quality
Size: 4/4 - Full Size
This was probably one of the most disappointing purchases because it was a Christmas gift. I’ve played cello for many years and started with a beginner cello and worked my way to better quality instruments and now my niece and going through the same process with violin. We originally bought her a starter violin and now we wanted to get her something slightly better and the reviews stated it’s good for beginners but it’s good quality for the budget. I’ve reviewed other violins and went with this one and the moment my niece opens it, the string pops off. The rosin is cheap and brittle. Also looks like it’s been used. The violin itself looks okay but has a little wear on the back of the body. Overall, I’m sure if I had spent $50-$100 more, I would have gotten a better violin. But once we get better strings, I’m hoping it will be fine. ... show more
