Took this out twice and speared 7 fish. It didn’t take long, either. Part of that was post-spawn fish that weren’t as energetic as usual, but equally important was the reach of this bad boy. Incredible! Others said theirs collapsed, but I haven’t had that happen yet. Maybe it’s because I’m spearing 3-6 lb freshwater fish and not trying to drive them into the center of the earth. I will say that the thinnest section, close to the head, is a little flimsy. Also, the little rivet holding the female threaded section (where the spear head screws in) is wobbly after one use. That’ll end up having to be replaced I’m sure. Also, I’m thinking some thread lock is a good idea for the spear head. I already had a fish or two twist enough to back the threads out a bit. Made me leery. ... show more

We did not have it extended very far at all and the then metal bent and broke very easily. Probably need a one piece option for stability. The fish were not very large .

I was only able to use the pole three times before it snapped in half, rendering it useless. I bought another one because i need to get rid of the armored catfish in our pond. The harpoon tip was OK, but the spikes fell out after three times. The spikes stayed in the fish when removing them because they are glued in. ... show more
