  • Worked good. Had to use old key with the new case!
Did exactly what it said in the description. Works great for my 2012 civic! I had to get new batteries too! They are cheap. Reccomend getting both are the same time! Pretty simple to swap everything & comes with instructions!

  • THIS IS THE ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO
Now that I have your attention, please look at this review carefully in order to do it the right way. Lots of reviewers are saying it's junk and that it doesn't line up properly, but fortunately that's false, as they did not install it right, and there is only one right way to install it right. For the people who weren't successful, its not their fault as the instructions are garbage. 1. First of all, like mine was, many of yours keys have broken from the point where the metal key meets the plastic case housing and the plastic piece that slips on to the metal key, so I think thats where there was alot of confusion as to why the new piece does not line up with the metal key hole. Also when taking apart your old key, check to see if your key has a transponder, a little piece that either gets stuck on the plastic housing with the logo side, or just falls out when you take it apart. Do not lose this piece. Mine did not have it but some Honda keys like the Accord does. I have the Honda Pilot key. Now: *IMPORTANT* Once you have everything disassembled, take the smallest plastic piece that looks like the Pizza Hut logo, and SLIDE IT onto the metal key, it slides on both ways. THIS MIGHT BE DIFFICULT as other people have said. The hole on the metal key WILL line up with the plastic pizza hut piece hole. 2. *MOST IMPORTANT PART* Notice the notches on the Pizza Hut piece, these notches also *SLIDE IN* to the plastic housing piece that has the Honda logo on it. Look at my pictures, it SLIDES into the housing from the inside and outward, this allows the key to fit in snug and not move. IF YOU DO NOT SLIDE IT IN, and just place it in to the plastic housing, it will not align properly and when it all goes back together, it will be slightly cracked open and will break very soon. 3. This next step is where you will need a bit of tape or light to medium loctite or similar glue and place your transponder on the right side of the housing where the holes for the buttons are. If you notice on the piece that has the physical buttons on it, there is a cut out groove where the tiny transponder goes. That is where the transponder has to be glued in. 4. Place the piece that has the physical buttons and place it onto the plastic housing key with the holes, ensure that the grooves drop in with the transponder. Let it dry. 5. Take the plastic piece with your metal key and place it on top of the piece with the buttons, apply pressure to snap everything in place, and both pieces with be aligned with no gaps and sturdy. Screw in the new screw to secure everything together. ... show more

  • Extremely Easy to Use
I was having a hard time getting my remote keyless entry to open and to lock, the case was missing a screw and it wasn't staying together very well. Bought this and it was SO easy to use and now my remote keyless works perfectly since the two halves of the shell are actually connected. My only difficult part was getting the metal key out of the original housing, but putting it into the new housing, then assembling the shell around it was incredibly easy. Took all of five minutes and that's with cleaning everything. ... show more

  • It’s decent
Look, I’m not gonna lie - I ordered this before and it broke. But it lasted for an entire year! So… I bought it again. Because it really isn’t a big deal to just install this thing. A locksmith was gonna charge me $150 for a new key fob shell transfer. This thing cost $7 and broke after a year… Even though I had to buy it again, $14 is still wayyy better than paying $150. I probably won’t have my car for anymore than 3 more years anyway. So if this breaks annually, 3 more times, I’ll still be ahead and only be down $35. Works for me. It’s super easy to install, just make sure to transfer the “transponder chip” along with the key fob and metal key carving. Look for the review that that one guy posted on here about transferring the “transponder chip.” It helped me out big time. I surrounded my transponder chip in a little bit of duct tape on both sides like a cushion and it’s been working perfectly. ... show more

  • Yay! Perfect!

  • Careful with your selection!
This was a perfect fit for my key and was very easy to put together! I tested all buttons after I did it and everything worked great! Lock, unlock, trunk and panic button! However, when I went to start my car this morning it would turn over but wouldn’t start. I had to use my spare key (3rd picture) to start it. The little tab that slides over the key and that you put the screw thru sits up to high and doesn’t allow the full key to engage in the ignition. I have a 2006 Honda Accord and according to Amazon, this one fit my car as others did not. This little piece should be made to go flush with the key fob. ... show more

  • Cheap screw
The case should work fine as a replacement for original case. On original case, the physical key broke out of case. Without the case attached to key, the pilot wouldn't stay running as I'm sure there's a chip in it. This physical key is now installed in new case along with the remote device. Instructions were a bit vague without mentioning the key sleeve is supposed to be installed a certain orientation. I did finally figure that out but snapping case completely closed was a bit of chore. However when tightening screw, the head of screw snapped completely off. Luckily I think enough of the screw is holding the key in and should keep it from turning inside if case. The plastic case definitely does not have as sturdy a feel as original but I think it will be ok, for now. I can always order another different case down the line if this one falls apart. Still much cheaper than getting an OEM replacement so I'm happy ... show more
