  • Perfect Fix (and EASY)
2007 Honda key fob was falling apart with the key wobbling all over the place. These fit perfectly and included everything you need to do the job. Great, easy fix for a great price. (Just don't forget to move the security chip over to the new case along with the metal key. If you don't, the engine will just constantly crank but not start.....ask me how I know....) ... show more

  • 2005 Honda CRV
This kit worked for me. I have a 2005 Honda CRV. The original battery in the two remotes lasted over 18 years, but I thought that I should change them. One of the remotes, I had no problem changing the battery. The second one, the little screw stripped and I could not get it apart. The case was also slightly cracked at the screw. I decided to buy this kit so that I could break the case and get the screw out with a vice grips. That approach worked for me very well. Regarding this product, I did note a few things. (The instructions that come with the kit don't completely cover the topic.) 1. You have to break the old case to get the metal key blade out of the old case. 2. The case is a bit difficult to get the key holder in and get it snapped, but mine did go together without modification. 3. I did not initially notice this in the product listing, but I copy it here. "If your original remote has a transponder chip inside the shell you will have to glue it inside this shell! If you don't transfer the transponder chip the car will not start." My car does have a transponder chip. Mine did not work until I transferred it to the new case. The transponder in my key fob looked like a small capsule (about 1/8 inch in diameter and 3/8 inch long). I did not glue it in, just in case this case does not last and I have to do it again. I put the transponder chip in the same space where it was in the original case. There is a space in this new case where it fits. Instead of glue, I added a little piece of Styrofoam so that it did not rattle around. 4. The screw that comes with this kit seemed to fit better going into the metal key blade in the same direction as the original case. I had some difficulty with the screw going in. I took it apart again and reversed the metal key blade, and it seemed to go in easier. I think that the original screw was a machine screw, and the one that comes with the kit appears to be a self tapping screw, but it did work for me and tightened down nicely. The final product works well. ... show more

  • Great but not OEM
This item worked great to replace the housing on both of my honda keys. It took a while to take the two parts of the shell apart as it felt like it would break. In the end, it was very easy to install, just move everything from the old key housing to the new one. Fit is great and feels snug. You can definitely tell that the material is not OEM but I would say that it is 90% of the way there. ... show more

  • Perfect fit and easy install
The keys for my brother’s 2009 Honda Pilot felt like they were going to snap with each use. Both key housings had cracks and it was only a matter of time before they broke completely. The new cases for perfectly and both keys were updated in a matter of minutes with nice and sturdy cases.

  • Fits perfectly with the 2013 Civic key
Fits perfectly with the 2013 Civic key. Easy to install ands look good. Very good alternative if you need to replace only the case.

  • Could be improved greatly with a slightly larger screw
If you put your key's electronics in and align the blade in the right direction, this fob is a perfect fit for the 2012 Honda Civic. If the blade direction is reversed, it's not, so be sure to look at it as you take it out of your old case before installing in this one. The big issue to me is that the way this new fob attaches is a bit different than the original design, in that the OEM version has a slightly thicker screw that threads into pre-tapped plastic whereas this one uses a slightly smaller screw that has to cut its own threads in the solid little block of plastic that the manufacturer has provided on the front of the fob. If you tighten too much, you'll strip the threads and end up with a piece of junk, but if you don't tighten quite enough, it's possible that the screw will come lose as it did for my daughter, leaving a loose key blade and the risk of the fob falling open and losing parts. Fortunately, we caught in in time after almost a month of use and were able to tighten it back up without losing the tiny little screw, but a larger diameter (yes, there's room through the original blade hole) and possibly slightly longer screw would be a big improvement and get this bumped up from 3* to at least 4. For now, check your fob frequently for the screw loosening and tighten when needed. ... show more

  • My Honda keys look like new again.
This product solved the issue of my aged and well used Honda keys from consistently falling apart on the remote end. I found these kits easy to work with. The hardest thing was disassembling my old keys to make the case swaps. I read the other product reviews on this item, so I was skeptical on purchasing it at first. However, after seeing how easy it was to use this product, I am thinking there may have been some user error from those that had a difficult experience with this item. The metal key slide has to be swapped over to the new case. If the small retainer that goes around the slide is not properly engaged in the grooves on its respective case half, then the other half will not fit properly. I also had no issue with installing the new screw after the replacement. The small screw driver worked like a champ. Thanks for creating this useful product! The item does come with instructions, but I did not have to use them. ... show more

  • Not exactly like OEM but a good replacement for the price.
The buttons were slightly more indented than with the OEM Accord 2011 remote but still usable. Tighten the screw after the clamshell halves are closed. The screw actually goes into both halves.
