This is the best one yet. It has some parts printed on both sides making it easy to determine which side to face front. Many of the items snap together without glue. One of the tricky parts is fitting square pegs into round holes. You have to sand off the corners so they fit. The paper parts are stickers so making books is easy and there is no messy glue needed. One trick to smooth construction of the outside walls is to not glue the inside walls to each other. That way they flex and allow the exterior walls to snap together easily. I did have to lubricate the secret escape panel slide with wax. It wasn't sliding easily without it. Finally, I love the dust covers. Overall this kit is above all the other 20 or so kits I have done. ... show more

Rose Detective Book Nook was a joy to put together. Gorgeous graphics, top quality materials, precision parts that snapped together like a dream. The kit provided lots of backup pieces, but I didn't need any. Helpful hints: 1) use 2 longest wired bulbs for second floor front wall & right wall installations; 2) feed enough wire on touch pad to reach installation point in center of front wall; 3) trust that touch pad will work even through piece of wood (it will!); 4) don't glue walls together - they snap together & provide a bit of flexibility that is helpful when fitting exterior walls on. Putting this together was crazy fun and the final product is super cute. It was time consuming and detailed but I enjoyed every minute. I used regular super glue when needed and it worked just fine. There was the problem of a missing hole at the end, but it was in the back so it wasn’t a huge deal. Overall I would absolute do one of these again. ... show more

    • Doesn't come with glue
This kit is AWESOME. It's a nice long project that's pretty easy to build and the pieces are all very detailed and sturdy. However, you need to make sure you have some sort of craft glue on hand before you start. You need the glue for one of the first steps. My daughter wants to be a detective and loves books so this was a perfect gift for her. Yes, it's pricey, but it seems worth it with all that's involved in making this. It's very clever and even lights up! But speaking of the lights - they're very sensitive. They're touch lights so they turn on easily. I recommend highly! ... show more

Cutebee is supposed to be one of the main REAL makers of book nooks on the market but this is my second book nook overall but my first one from cutebee and I was highly disappointed. All of the pieces are hard to get out, everything has been breaking, the laser cut holes are not right, things aren’t fitting right, and worst of all.. they missed holes in Vital areas so I literally can’t even put it together. Super upset and I’m half way through it so I can’t return it….. I’ve removed all of the cutebee book nooks from my Amazon cart. Will look for another company. ... show more

    • Had great hopes at first.
I have made at least 15 book nooks and this one frustrated me the most! The pieces snapped together but they didn’t stay snapped together, I had to keep re-doing them. Everything was constantly falling apart, especially at the end when I tried to put all the side pieces on, as soon as I got one side on the other would fall off back and forth and in doing all that pieces came undone inside and fell out, I finally glued lots of stuff down just so I could get it to go together! I really liked all the detail items in the kit, that is the best I have seen and the lighting was great but not happy with the integrity of snapping the pieces into place. ... show more
