Finally I found a chair that will work for me. It feels safe, it's well made, and it goes smoothly. I don't always have to use it, but when I have used it it has performed well. UPDATE! I brought this on our vacation to Los Cabos and I can't say enough about how awesome this chair was. It performed perfectly! There were several long and steep ramps that I had to climb to get to the restaurants that were elevated (so you can get an ocean view) and this chair handled it like a champ. We were there 2 weeks and never had a single problem. It went well through the airports and was easy to fold down. You have to remove the battery to fly, but the company sends you a really nice bag to carry it in, and you just use it like a regular carry-on. This company thought of everything. I was in the chair for long periods of time and it was comfortable. I just can't say enough about this chair and it's performance. I had two other power sheelchairs prior to this and this was by far the best! And the cost roughly the same amount so it's a great buy. ... show more

The product isn't the issue Culver Mobility is. I purchased the chair for my husband to use at our daughters June 30th wedding. He had a similar chair that was not in great shape, he used it daily after losing his leg to cancer. The first chair was not ordered from amazon and took weeks to arrive, to ensure we received the chair on time I placed my order on April 24th. The chair arrived on May 1st we opened the box to ensure the chair was what we ordered and not damaged. The chair was placed back into the original box and put away to ensure it was in pristine condition for the wedding. Unfortunately my husband lost his two year battle with cancer on June 15th just 15 days before our daughters wedding. I attempted to return the chair on Amazon only to learn the return window closed on May 27th. Amazon suggested I reach out Culver Mobility directly. I have done so several time with phone calls, emails and web inquires all have gone unanswered. Very disappointed in Culver Mobility, there are many other companies selling similar products on Amazon. I would suggest you do not purchase a chair from Culver Mobility. They clearly don't care enough about their customers to return a email or phone call. I understand it's past the window of return but was hoping to work with Culver Mobility to come to some resolution. ... show more

The Shawk chair is a very good option for a portable folding electric wheel chair. It folds easy but can be a little cumbersome to lift and place in your trunk depending on what type of vehicle you have. I have two cars, 1 coupe, and 1 SUV and it is a little harder to place the chair in the SUV. I found that unlocking the wheels and rolling it in makes it easy to maneuver into the SUV. I just used it for the first time. I ordered the black leather chair. It is not black leather. It is black cloth. That was disappointing for the price I paid. The joystick is very sensitive so practice in a clear area until you get the hang of it. The footrest is on the small side and it pops off the bars it snaps onto rather easily. It would be helpful if it was bigger so it would be more comfortable but I do like the fact that it fold up for ease in getting on but it's hard to flip it down once you are on it if you are wearing a dress. Hoping to contact seller for a partial refund since it's not leather as advertised. I reached out to the company to return it as it is not comfortable. To use the footrest your knees have to stay bent at 90 degree angle which is not comfortable if you have knee issues. I do not recommend this motorized wheelchair or the company. ... show more

I bought as a Christmas present for my disabled mother. It was very nice but did not function and was sent with an old dirty toolbag with black mold, disintegrated cardboard, spiderwebs and a manual that told me nothing. There was a random wire hanging from the back and I tried contacting them for over a week to troubleshoot. Ended up having to return but they wanted ME to pay shipping?! I am so disappointed but more importantly my poor mother desperately needed it. It's a real shame and I will never order a high price item thru Amazon because of this seller and their complete lack of customer service. Sad. ... show more
