  • it operates as it should & no issues so far
Color: White
I’ve had a multitude of different coffee makers, both pods and beans. The last one I had was a Tishcibo and I have to say it was the worst one I’ve ever encountered. It was very complicated if you wanted to get a quick cup of coffee, this one is very simple, very straightforward and it makes a great cup of coffee. It also was highly sensitive and things had to be just perfect or it wouldn’t work and it was most annoying. I don’t find that at all with this machine. It’s very straightforward and simple. it tends to be a quiet machine with the exception of the grinding, which I can’t complain about it all that’s a 15 second process. There are no coffee ground deposits in my cup. They do fly around when the grinding process is ongoing however, they give you a brush to make sure the pod that is holding the ground. The top is clean and you insert it clean and the coffee comes out ground free. There are some grounds that accumulated at the bottom but seriously over the course of several weeks it amounts to less than anyone needs to worry about I hope the salad workings of this machine continues. That’s why I went to a Cuisinart. I like the fact that you can grind your own beans and add a pod if you choose or guest chooses. ... show more

  • Super convenient, great coffee
Color: Black
I'm really pleased with this purchase. I bought it largely to save counter space - which it does - but it turns out to be really easy to use and make great coffee. The only downside is the water reservoir and bean holder aren't very big, so probably best for someone like me who only drinks a couple of cups a day (so I have to replenish the water about every other day). For me, it's about perfect. ... show more

  • One month review
Color: Black
Our Keurig gave out after several years of heavy use. We used a grinder for our beans and then put them into a reusable filter to make our coffee. So this coffee maker would clear up some space on our counters and keep grinding and brewing central. Here are my impressions one month in. For the sake of brevity I’ll keep comments brief. Coffee Taste: This thing makes great tasting coffee! I’ve enjoyed my coffee so much more with this maker. Quality of Build: Maker feels cheap with a lot of plastic so I am concerned about its longevity. I bought a warranty just in case. Reservoir: Only two people in our home and we find ourselves filling the reservoir often. It is much smaller than the previous Keurig we had. Grinder: This is the feature that should make this maker shine and some senses it does. Here are few insights: - The grind cannot be adjusted. However, I’ve found it to be perfect for a wonderful cup. - The motor housing comes up right in the middle of the hopper and takes up a lot of real estate. So it takes care to fill the hopper up without bouncing beans off of the motor housing onto the counter. - The amount of coffee ground is pre-determined with one touch but you can stop and start the grind with another push of the grind button if you wish to. It can be messy. Grounds do ‘jump’ out at times during the grinding. At times the amount of ground coffee is higher than the brim of the filter and it gets scraped off when removing the filter from under the grinder. The way I avoid this scraping off of grounds is to shake the filter during or after the grinding process to lower the level enough to avoid spillage. We have noticed when removing the tray from the platform that there is a lot of grounds loss underneath. I think this comes from the actual grinding process and also from what falls from the grinder’s mouth when the machine is bumped or moved. To clean up errant grounds we have a small Fantik handheld vacuum that we keep under a cabinet to quickly suck up any mess. This isn’t a big deal because the presence of any grinder is going to result in some grounds needing to be cleaned up every day. Here are some things I wish the maker had: an iced-coffee option, and a timer for auto on and off. All in all because of the great tasting coffee this machine makes, we are going to hold on to it. ... show more

  • Love the coffee maker, the reusable grounds pod...not so much.
Color: Black
I do like this coffee maker. I've been using k-cups for so long that I forgot how much better freshly ground coffee tastes. the process is pretty simple, just place the reusable pod holder in the ground chute, let it grind & then switch it over to the brewer side. The next part has become a bit of an adventure however. The lid on the pod holder for fresh grounds is really cheap & DOES NOT provide a good seal. As a result, I have had several blow-outs already where coffee & grounds leak out of the top & go everywhere. It is not a deal breaker for me & I am already looking for a better pod holder with a better lid that holds the grounds and coffee inside the pod. It is annoying that Cuisinart provides such a cheap & poorly designed part however. The lid hinge is just a piece of folded plastic & is not going to hold up to repeated use, let alone provide a seal against leakage. Improve that one part & you have yourself a perfect little coffee maker if you still want the convenience of single cup brewing but are ready to move on from K-cup pods. ... show more
