  • Good buy, but no goldtone filter
Have owned one of these for about 7 years. Still works but looks a bit worse for wear. And the carafe lid no longer fits tightly so leaks when pouring if your not careful. The pressure from the filter holder above and I guess heat has definitely pushed it in and warped it. The gold filter has also started to come apart along the top edge. Decided rather than replace carafe and filter alone, I'd just invest in this. It's a good unit, capable of making a couple of mugs (about 4 coffee-size cups, which are not a measuring cup, you know) or a full 12 coffee cups. Of course, the less you make the more coffee you have to use for the same strength, so I usually make 6 and just turn the machine off after making. Find the coffee acceptable reheated in my microwave. Better than letting it sit on anyway. Thought about a Keurig, but was disinclined to play with filling the little baskets, and the pre-packaged ones are expensive. No point in shelling out for more stainless and pointless programming. HOWEVER, as several reviewers have said, unlike a new machine, this refurbished model comes with no gold filter basket. It does include several paper filters and one carbon water filter. I don't use the latter anyway, but use water from the Culligan water filter attached to my kitchen faucet (available here at Amazon, and a very nice unit). This refurbished one looks brand new and I'm hoping will do as well as the new one. ... show more

  • Great coffeemaker, no permanent filter.
Had this for a week and love it. Note: the listing says gold tone permanent filter included. It is NOT. The outside of the package and the manual both had a stamp that said Gold Tone permanent filter not included. As a MANUFACTURER refurb, I would expect the listing and what was received to actually match, that is the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5. Be sure to read the manual. It says this pot 's cup of coffee is 5oz rather than 6oz. That may affect how much coffee you use to brew. There is a 5 beep alarm that sounds when brew is complete. You can set the hold time from 2-4 hours. You can set small brew between 1-4 cups. The carafe is a no spill spout and the lid snaps on and off, no flipping it up to fill it. Takes some getting used to, but seems to work ok. Now the important part, the temperature. I have my pot set for 4 hours hold time before auto shut off. After 3 hours, coffee is still hot. I can still see the steam coming out of my cup. I do NOT have to microwave my coffee to heat it up after it's been sitting on the hot plate for 3 hours. The pot slides easily on my countertop. The water fill line on the coffeemaker is on the side. Makes 12 cups, programmable, has a clock, brew pause function. Overall an excellent coffeemaker that has what I need and keeps coffee hot. ... show more

  • Ummm....Just Saying!
This Coffee Maker was good while it lasted. I only had it a few months. Naturally, it expired after the date to return it had expired. I liked this Cuisinart product; this was my first time buying this brand of coffeemaker. I can only say "Buyer Beware!" When buying refurbished products/coffee machines on Amazon. I love shopping on Amazon, but have had zero luck in purchasing coffee makers from them. This particular machine went haywire as soon as the red light started to blink for it to be cleanrd. I followed the directions to a "T" including running it through another cycle, each time using one- third white vinegar and two-thirds water. It did no good. The coffee maker would start off as if it would brew a good cup of coffee like it had before; but lo, before the cycle ended the red "clean" light would blink and go haywire. The coffee would come out worse than before - undrinkable, with a nasty bitter taste. So this coffee pot goes from making the best cup of coffee to the worst. It is unusable when the "clean" red light goes off in the middle of brewing; you may as well stop the machine and throw away the coffee. I wasted lots of good coffee grinds that way. I know I have hard water; but I cleaned this coffee machine three times and it did not work. Also, I noticed that I was not getting the amount of coffee brewed for the amount of water I put in. It would turn to steam and the whole reservoir would be on "fire" when I lifted the lid. What a steaming mess it was; water all over the place inside and under the lid. Something tells me I should have just bought a Black and Decker and been done with it. Refurbished Cuisinart Coffee Maker # DCC-100 12 Cup purchased on Amazon - Beware! ... show more

  • Great coffee maker with a few minor flaws
UPDATE (2021): Upgraded to 5 stars because we still use this coffeemaker and still have never had a problem. We've used it anywhere from a few times a month to daily in the past 5 years. I will say that we don't really use the programming functions so I can't speak to the longevity of that feature. We have used it multiple times in the past and it worked fine. It still works great! It still looks great! We've gotten used to the lid coming off every time. It's a minor inconvenience. ORIGINAL (2016): Really like this coffee maker, and I want to love it, but there are a couple small things that prevent it from getting 5 stars. I purchased this refurbished. Not a single problem! PROS: -programmable -great size (not too big a footprint) -stylish -love the gold tone filter (purchased separately) CONS: -the way it's designed makes it hard to pour water into the reservoir -the coffee pot's lid does not flip up, so you keep having to take it off and put it back on ... show more

Loved this coffee pot so much that I bought a refurbished one (cheaper) and it works wonderfully! All the other coffee pots I've tried don't hold a candle to this one, and I hope they keep making it. The only thing I would change is the water tank is hard to fill in the back corner, otherwise, makes coffee with enough speed you are not waiting around for an hour, and feeds water consistently enough through the water basket that it has time to soak the coffee a bit before going into the pot. It has never leaked all over the counter like lots of them do, and the last one I had lasted a very long time. I hope they keep making this model, or at least refurbishing them! ... show more
