  • A definite improvement...
I'd like to preface my review with this: if you are the casual shooter (maybe a few times a month), please make sure this isn't just a frivolous buy to impress those around you. If you play like I do, which is typically 4-5 days a week, both in leagues and casual, you are in the right spot! I ordered this as a second shaft for my Lucasi LUX50. The original shaft is the QFLEX slim (11.75mm) shaft. The original shaft does have more flex to it. This is by design for accuracy over impact to reduce deflections. I have found it to be a throroughly well playing shaft. I have been debating on ordering the Cuetec shaft for a few months, and finally pulled the trigger. I don't regret the decision one bit. The one thing I disliked about the QFlex Slim shaft was the tendency of hard shots being not as accurate. There are times when you need to shoot harder, and these shots were a 50/50 on being accurate. It's a great shaft for a finesse game where english and accuracy more important. Honestly great feedback from the shaft when making a shot as well. Upon receiving the Cuetec shaft, I was a bit anxious to see the performance. I had played a few games with a friend's that was the 12.5mm variety, yet I prefer a smaller tip for play. Unpackinging was great. No issue with appearance or quality. Everything perfectly packaged and displayed as removed from box. Test fitted the shaft to my cue...smooth and effortless. Transferred the necessary items to my cue case, and made plans to go play pool. I played 20 plus games that evening with friends. Because of the difference in the initial feel of the cue with the new shaft, it took a couple of racks to adjust to the solid feedback (definitely no problem there) and the reduction in the flex compared to the Lucasi original shaft. Accuracy on simple cut shots is spot on. Longer cut shots with english were solid, and accurate, maybe more so than before. Cut shots of greater than 45 degrees took a few adjustments in my shot speed and english to get the results I wanted. Once I made a few more shots with adjustments, I started to gain more of a natural feel for the Cuetec, where it started to be second nature. The big test was with shooting banks and harder shots. Shots requiring a harder hit with english definitely surprised me more than anything. There are times when you need the ability to shoot a harder shot, be accurate with the proper english, in order to break a cluster of balls apart in order to finish a rack. The very first time I was faced with this, I was amazed with the results. The shot speed, accuracy and english were spot on, shot made, and english directed the cue ball almost exactly where I wanted it to hit the clustered balls, leaving an easy cut to continue my run. During the night I had two other opportunities for the same purpose: making the shot and breaking clustered balls to continue shooting. I was 2 out of three at nights end. The one missed shot was full table length, so the english didn't quite follow through. After about ten games, bank shots were actually more accurate. I'm about a 60/40 bank shooter, so naturally I only bank when necessary. As for english, well, I actually had to tone down a little on english, specifically when performing a draw. my first shot to draw the cue back a few inches resulted in about an 18 inch draw instead of around 3-4 inches as intended. With a couple of adjustments, I was seeing exactly what I wanted regarding this. All in all, this is a definite great choice. My suggestion is to go into the change to this shaft with an open mind. As this is my first carbon fiber shaft, I made the mistake of thinking the feedback on shots would be similary to my other three cues. Nope. It is a different feed back. It is a solid feedback to you pick up quickly. It is also solid on overall performance. After a few games, it was a definite no-brainer. I had debated on purchasing this or the Lucasi CF. After researching and reading reviews, Cuetec is definitely the choice to make. Also, Maintenance is easier than on standard wooden cue shafts. Just use 75% Isopropyl alcohol with a lint free non-abrasive rag. Cuetec includes 8 wipes of this nature with the shaft. You can easily buy 75% alcohol wipes on Amazon, just make sure they are alcohol only wipes, as some contain aloe. If you are looking to improve your game, as well as reduce maintenance of your equipment, you can't go wrong with the Cuetec in your bag. ... show more

  • Cuetec Cynergy CT15K 11.8mm Carbon Fiber Low Deflection Pool Cue Shaft
Size: 11.8mm Style Name: Radial
Been playing with a Jacoby and switched to a cuetec and there is a difference. Still playing with my Jacoby butt, radial pin. Appearance is looks great, no blemishes and is one solid color. My Jacoby has a few blemishes and some shiny knots, spots, a little annoying. All around feel is easier to move the cue ball. Easy to draw and you don’t need much effort for cue ball control. IMO the cuetec shaft is a better shaft all around without question. The cuetec shaft will be my #1 shaft I play with here on out without question. I’ve been practicing on 9’ diamonds that play great, not super tight but you need to pocket the ball without it spitting out on you. True level great tables so drawing a ball back 5-7 feet without ease is a must playing rotation games. Try one out, you’ll make the switch. Makes you want to play more cause it hits so nice - great shaft, happy with it. ... show more

  • Beautiful shaft, so smooth, good action
Size: 11.8mm Style Name: 5/16 x 18
The media could not be loaded. At my modest skill level, there's no way I *need* a $400 carbon fiber shaft, but this has really increased my enjoyment of the game, and that's what it's all about. It's a dream to hold and shoot with, and capable of anything you could ask of a cue, if you're SVB. For us mortals, it looks and feels really great, and when your stroke is on, it's magic. The only downside is that I can't blame my equipment for my shortcomings. ... show more

  • In this case, I did get what I paid for...
Size: 11.8mm Style Name: 3/8" X 10
It's a carbon fiber pool cue shaft by Cuetec. Cynergy 11.8 3/8x10. Worth every penny !! even an upgrade over my previous love, McDermott's G-Force. I use this shaft on my McDermott D-9. The shaft gives me so much more control on touch shots as well as power hits. Easy to care for..A bit of a learning curve, I'm thinking some of that is the smaller tip, but very happy with the shaft. Would recommend to serious player looking for next level upgrade... ... show more
