I chose this crochet kit because it was cute but also because it is cheaper than a lot of other kits. I learned very basic crochet when I was young but I forgot pretty much everything. This kit certainly is not easy and requires a lot of patience, but, between the instruction booklet and video tutorials I was able to piece everything together decently. It can be a bit repetitive so you get better with each try. Everything you need is right in the box. My first crotchet plant is pretty janky, but it was enjoyable to make! I haven’t made these yet but I have done other by this brand. Great directions and fun to create. You can also use thicker yarn and hook to make them bigger. Pattern reads well.

    • DON’T GET THIS IF YOU’RE A BEGINNER
So this is a super cute kit for a great price, comes with everything you need, and there’s video tutorials. I’m currently trying to figure out how to follow the video tutorials, because while they give you a whole (small) ball of yarn for practice, they put the slow tutorials for each stitch in the actual videos for the project as they’re needed, so if you want to practice stitches you need to skip through. Then there’s the problem of the yarn itself, it’s super thin and the “practice” yarn is bright white. I can hardly see what I’m doing, and after one attempt the yarn is completely unwinding and I have to cut it off. If you’re an absolute beginner, byo yarn or spend a little more on a woobles set or something with better yarn, then move up to this when you can do the stitches. To Crochetta: if you’re gonna market this as “beginner,” please at least make the practice yarn stay together so I can confidently start without worrying about using up all my yarn because I messed up and now it’s all unwound. I still plan on doing my best to finish, and will update then, but it’s honestly looking bleak ... show more

I was almost a complete beginner to crochet when I got this kit. It's been a really fun way to learn. The kit includes almost everything needed to finish the project. The only thing not included is the blusher to add color to the cheeks and leaves. I ended up using a powdery lipstick, which worked well. The instructions are pretty good, but not written by a native English speaker, so occasionally rough to follow. I had to watch some YouTube videos to figure out some steps. Overall it's a pretty good kit and decent price for what you get. ... show more

This is cute, but just a warning, the yarn provided is not super beginner-friendly. The videos are helpful... but not for a brand new beginner, more intermediate beginner. Would recommend it for a fun inexpensive project, but not for someone trying this for the first time.

I am often complimented on my patience, but if you saw me as I tried (multiple times) to simply get one of these projects started you’d never know it. I’ve tried to do this kit at least 6 times and every time I rage quit without getting so much as a single step done. The yarn sucks, constantly coming apart, and even when I managed to get a few stitches it’s impossible to see where one starts and another ends. I thought it was just me maybe being in a bad mood the first few times I attempted. It was not, this kit has never failed to ruin a perfectly relaxing day/evening. It is the single most frustrating project I have ever taken on. Id say if you’re trying to learn crochet from scratch, pass on this one. If you already know crochet and have a few projects under your belt it’s probably a good kit, but you still may want to bring your own yarn. Slightly unpopular opinion in the bad review category, I actually liked the tutorial videos. They helped me grasp the concepts of the different stitches, but execution fell apart mostly due to the yarn. ... show more

Love these kits. Comes with everything you need and super easy for beginners I just learned how to crochet a few weeks ago. With a little help, I was able to easily read the pattern, follow the instructions and make the plants. Super fun and adorable.

    • NOT for Beginners
I got this after seeing those ads for woobles beginner kits everywhere but thought the woobles were a bit pricey so thought this kit was a steal. I realize now I should have just gotten the woobles kit. The yarn in this kit splits so easily it took me forever to figure out how to hook it for even the basic stitch without it all unraveling and pulling apart, rendering it useless. I watched the videos a million times but could not figure out the magic loop stitch which is definitely not beginner friendly (in the woobles kit they have it prestarted for you and use special yarn that can't be split). I was starting to become convinced I must be a lot dumber than I thought until a friend who knows how to crochet confirmed these are more advanced patterns. If you know how to crochet this kit has some nice supplies for a good price and the end result looks like it would be cute but would not recommend for somebody who has never crocheted before. UPDATE : went to Michaels and bought some better quality yarn that is slightly thicker. Also looked up some different YouTube videos that were easier to follow than those included in the kit. SO much easier and I've figured out how to do several stitches. I think I'll be able to come back to doing this kit later after getting more basics down with the easier yarn. ... show more
