  • Use hairspray
Works great, super smooth but use hairspray for best adhesion
Reviewed in the United States on January 2, 2023 by Daniel

  • Such adhesion, much removal trouble, very wow!
Before I describe my experience with adhesion, I need to make a note that the plastic film that covers the plate left behind a residue that I'm still trying to get off. The plastic film didn't even cover the plate evenly, so I have a two inch or so stripe down the center where there is no residue. I am hesitant about using something like acetone to clean it off, and it isn't sticky, so Goo Gone does nothing. I don't know for sure if this residue affects how the plate works, but I don't care about the cosmetic issue, so if this residue doesn't affect adhesion, I don't really care. Now on to the glass bed itself. It looks like a well made glass bed and it fits perfectly as one would expect. The adhesion of this bed is insane. I wanted to note the previous details, because when I say the adhesion is ridiculous, I don't know if that residue is responsible for the almost gorilla like adhesion of my print, but some of the claims that all you have to do is wait for it to cool off and the print will just pop off is greatly exaggerated. In fact, even after waiting for prints to cool all the way down (and sometimes an hour or so more) prints are still very hard to pry off the bed. One suggestion was to run it under cold water. It did help for one single print, but I had a number of other prints that running under water did not help with. I even tried to put it in the freezer, and it seemed to help to wiggle some of the prints off, but there were a number of larger prints I had to put it into the deep freezer for a long time to get the print to come off the plate. I normally print at 50c, but I did find that printing at 60c does help the print to come off a bit easier, likely because it has more contraction as it cools, but it does cause stringing issues, so that is something to be aware of. I also noticed that somehow my prints are a lot more accurate. I'm not sure how much the plate has a role in this, but I guess a print with no hope of breaking free may be more accurate overall, but I just wanted it noted. Overall I am very happy with this glass plate. I wish the parts would just pop off on its own and not need the assistance of the deep freezer, but I would buy this again if this plate decides to break, probably going from a deep freezer to room temperature. ... show more

  • Perfect for Ender 3. Don’t forget to buy bigger paper clips

  • Stop messing up parts! This glass bed will have your parts never slip again!
The media could not be loaded. I upgraded to this glass bed table after my original ender 3 bed started to warp. I had heard that glass beds were slippery and hard to get part to adhere to surface so I was skeptical to try. Long story short I am so glad I bought this table it has great adhesion. I had zero issues on my first print with it as you can see in the video. The part was super easy to remove from glass table. The print quality remained 100 percent to what I expect from my ender 3. I had to.get slightly bigger clamps to hold it down but I highly recommend this table to anyone with an ender 3! Great product! 5 stars All the Way! ... show more

  • The good, and the bad. Some time, trial and error with this print bed...
There is a lot of good in this plate. I originally got it because the magnetic one that came with my Ender 3 pro literally tore up and ripped after scraping a couple of prints off of it with the scraper that came with the printer. I had heard a lot of good about glass print beds and decided to get the Ender glass print bed as I thought it would have the best fit. This print bed has exceeded my expectations in many ways. I have printed dozens of objects on it, and it works every time! I havn't had to re-level my print bed since I installed the glass one. I initially had a hard time gettig ABS to adhere to the plate, but it was easily fixed by a good wash with isapropyl (rubbing) alcohol. The only problem that I have with this bed is getting the prints off the bed once the prints are done. The Amazon description tells of how the print will come off easily once the plate has cooled, but this is not true. Once you get the print to properly adhere to the bed, you really have to work to get it off the bed once the object is done. I did not have this problem when I flipped the bed over to the smooth glass side, but I had this problem almost every time on the coated side. I do think that the coated bed makes a difference in adhesion, but the trade off is it is harder to get the print off when you are done, and the print has a rougher underside. This is a very good glass plate, but if you are new to using a glass print plate, there are some things to keep in mind: 1. Prints are harder to remove due to the lack of the flexibility of the stock magnetic plate that comes with the printer. 2. You have to secure the plate to the print bed with clips (I use binder clips). These clips can sometimes take up space on the print bed, and make sure to plan around this space when slicing your 3d file as to not damage your print head by running into the clip. 3. A glass print bed is thicker than the stock magnetic one. Due to this, you will need to compensate for this extra thickness by either re-leveling, or adjusting the height of the z-axis stop switch on the printer. Failure to do this could result in stalling of the motors, and overall damage to the printer. Overall, this is a nice print bed for the price, and I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their printer! ... show more

  • Perfect upgrade for 3D printers!
Highly recommend a glass bed for 3D printers. Good adhesion equals great prints. Just make sure that you give extra time for the bed to heat up, since it has to transfer the heat through the glass bed rather than just the original.
