  • It’s just a splitter. You need an installer.
Size: Crankcase Splitter with C-clip
Other sellers pair this tool with the crank installer for close to the same price. I should’ve done my research. My fault. Good quality. Shipped fast. Worked like a charm.

  • Worked perfectly.
Size: Crankcase Splitter Kit with C-clip
I needed a case-splitter + crank-puller tool, and this fit the bill. I had to split the cases on an old KX250 and this setup did the job just fine. There's no directions, but if you need to see it used, there's lots of youtube videos. I figure if you've ever had to use any kind of 2 or 3 jaw gear puller before, then this concept is not that different. It uses threaded rods instead of 'fingers' to attach to the case bolts. Its not polished up super spiffy or anything, but so what. It seems to be made out of some pretty hefty steel, I can't imagine this ever breaking. Maybe the threaded rods would be a weak-link b/c I can't tell what grade they are. So, worst case, the rods give up... so go buy some good threaded rod and you're back in biz. In my use, the rods held up fine. Clean out the holes you're threading them into before you thread them in and you'll have a better experience. Stripped or galled threads are often caused by dirt and gunk in the mix. It comes with 6 rods, these are in 2 sizes.. so two sets of 3 to fit 'small' case-bolts or 'large' ones. My motor used the smaller ones. The crank-puller tool worked fine too. It's called a crank puller, but what it does is let you pull the crank out of the half of the housing that it will be still stuck in after you split the cases. I guess it does pull the crank, but it's separating the crank from the bearing. Anyway, it does the job, just make sure you sort out what adapters and things you need to use to do it right. Again, go look at youtube videos of people using a tool like this to split cases and remove the crank. This tool looks the same as some 'brand-name' tools you'll be familiar with, I suspect they are made in the same Chinese factory... this one probably made by the night-shift crew while the day-shift crew makes the name-branded ones that look a little more polished and so on. No idea, just a theory. ... show more

  • Worked but one of the all threads was stripped in the middle

  • Not worth the $ in my humble opinion
Size: Crankcase Splitter Kit with C-clip
So the quality of the craftsmanship id say is good! just the application for use in my case wasn’t. I split the cases with the splitter, the bolts were pretty much desroyed sfter, but those can be replaced, so not a big deal. The main splitter piece held strong. As for pulling the new crank through, only one side worked with all the little useless in my case different gizmos. So I basically had to freeze the crank heat the bearing method which I could’ve done to the other side as well and did it all without the need for the puller. I thought I’d try something new and use the special tools to make the job easier. In my opinion if you can’t do both sides then it’s a waste. so now I have myself a hefty paper weight. ... show more
