I had never made a candle before, but our family had decided to make gifts this year instead of buying. This kit turned out to be a nice one. The soy melted nicely. I bought a big mug to put the candle in and braided leather strands around the handle. That did cause a problem because the wicks included were for the 4 oz jars they included. I bought additional longer ones. I also wanted more of a mixed scent and bought some additional oils that were a bit subpar, but okay for a first try. But the candle set well, so I was happy. I had enough wax left to make one of their small jar candles too, and that came out well. This kit really has everything you need to wet your toes in candle making. Honestly I should’ve bought this kit first. It has everything down to the thermometer. Very easy to go by. It was all packaged nicely in the box. These candles are Lavender scented w/ lavender herbs I already had. The pics are 4oz tin cans and a small rose mold and this was with 1lb of soy wax 2bags. It melted smoothly and quickly. Thermometer is easy to read. I researched a lot of YouTube videos and found it easy. I let it reach to about 185 F degrees, removed from the double boiler and stirred in the oil of my choice and the color of my choice. I poured the whole bottle since it’s less than a full Oz of liquid. Stirring is VERY important. Stir gently for about 2-3 min or until the dye is melted all the way. Then at 145-150 F I poured to the cans. I read that at this temp it helps to reduce any sink holes if you pour too hot. ... show more

The kit was very easy to use to make my candles for beginners the wax melted very smooth when following the directions I love the different wax dye colors the only thing I didn’t like was the wick was too weak and thin but it burns clear and clean less smoke I don’t Care for the tin can holders but I use glass is better it mold the candle faster , the oils scents that came with it very strong scents I end up using my oil essential oils. Overall I will buy from this company/seller again very fast shipping ... show more

I love this product is really fun to make it is pretty messy. It kind of got all over my kitchen and the smell of the wax just isn’t great. He just doesn’t smell very good. I had to mix it with a different candlewax to make the smell better but it’s a super fun kit for beginners so if you just want something fun to do, I would recommend. ... show more

As an experience, it's a cool kit. I don't regret buying it because my main purpose was to "make a candle" but if I cared about the final product, it's not a good one. The wick looks plastic, instead of a fabric one. I can't imagine that being healthy to breathe in as it burns. There are 4 pre-measured wax bags but one is too much for one vessel. I didn't want to use up two vessels because I wanted to make different scents and colors, so I had to pour remainder of the melted wax in an old jar. If I had more wicks, I wouldn't need to waste it. It was enough to almost fill up 2 vessels. After the candle cured, there was a sink, and a white film on it. It does not look nice to gift to someone else. The scents are nice not strong enough to smell while burning So 5 stars for the experience (clear instructions, no missing or broken parts) but 1 star for the quality of the actual candle. So my average rating is 3 star ... show more

This set is a good starter set and has great instructions. The containers that came for the candles were not very good quality and dented easily. The soy wax was great and there was enough coloring included to last a long time. Not so with the wicks. There are just enough for the four candles included. The same with the oils. I loved the silicone finger cots and use them all the time with my glue gun! For everything you get, this is a sweet little kit. ... show more
