  • It’s not the wicks fault you don’t know how to properly make candles
First of all, the reviews with candles full of flower petals, herbs, spices, etc saying that the wicks don’t burn right are because candles are not meant to have solids in them. They clog the wick and keep it from burning properly. Use those items in soap, not candles. #2- one wick = 1-2 inches of diameter of candle wax pool. You put a single wood wick in a 3” candle you will get a 2” pool of wax down the center and the sides will not melt. Candle science 101. You need to size your wicks for your container size and shape. The thickness of these wicks makes doubling them in each clip easy yet I prefer to space them in the candle in a triangle on anything over 3 1/2 inches. Keep them trimmed to 1/4” and you will be good to go. Soaking them in wax does help with the crackle. You must use candle wax with candle coloring and candle fragrance oil. Essential oils, perfume, crayons, old pillar and taper candles, free standing candles etc all burn differently and will effect how and if your candle stays lit and burns properly. It astounds me that someone will take 6 old candle remnants and add two crayons for color, sprinkle in some dried flowers and then pour it into a 4 inch jar with one wick and then blame the wick for not burning properly! If making candles was that easy then the good ones wouldn’t be $30! There is a lot of research and trial and error to it! Don’t knock the products you use when you are the one using them incorrectly!!! If you want to make candles and don’t want to research the correct way to do it, buy a kit. ... show more

  • Works well
Works like expected to. It does make that crackling sound, a little pricey for my taste, but works good.

  • Burns clean
I don't have any problems with these wicks staying lit. They are a little thicker than I like, but works well. I use these to pair with another wood wick.

  • Actually amazing
The media could not be loaded. These are really good wicks! The only problem is that it doesn’t make the fireplace sound fr. But they burn really good! I love these definitely bought more!

  • Faulty batches of wicks
These work great most of the time after being soaked in coconut oil and prepped with wax. However as some other reviews have said sometimes a completely different set of wicks will arrive. These wicks do not light and will burn out no matter how you prep them. The normal wicks are good but working with these is a massive gamble if you do not test each batch prior to using them. I will be switching to new wicks in my next batch of candles. ... show more

  • Very underwhelmed - no crackle, hard to light
While the stand makes these super easy to use in candle making, I was very underwhelmed when I went to light the first one. So hard to get it to stay lit. Maybe there is some instruction I missed. I have purchased crackling wick candles and loved them. This did not give the crackling effect I was used to. I honestly don’t hear a thing. Still cute and still technically works after you spend several minutes lighting and re lighting to get that little flame to stay going. ... show more

  • Love these!
YOU MUST SATURATE THE WICKS IN WAX, LIKE THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY! I am genuinely confused by all of the bad reviews... the only reason I can think of that the wick burned out quickly is because it was not soaked in wax for 5-10min. Also, I highly recommend using two of the wicks in the metal base. You will have a much longer lasting candle this way. ... show more

  • Perfection!
The media could not be loaded. I was worried about how this wick would work because of so many people saying that the wick just goes out right away and doesn't burn well, but I figured I'd try it anyways and see for myself! And I'm excited to say that these wicks burn beautifully! I used two of them together, dipped them in the melted wax that I was using for my candles, let them cool, then poured my wax in after centering the wicks how I wanted them! I let this candle burn for 15 minutes just to see how it would last. The flame never went out, and it has that nice crackly sound that I was hoping for! This was my first time making a candle and it couldn't have been easier with these wicks! ... show more
