We bought these for my 11 year old daughter who was showing an interest in learning calligraphy. We bought a basic calligraphy book and this set of basic pens/markers for her to learn with. They work well. They offer different sizes, which helps with the different strokes (some of which are thicker). Really good pens! I just opened them excited to give them a try. They come in small, med and large tips and are very smooth. The only issues I had was the medium pen was completely dried out. Large same small work great!

The media could not be loaded. These pens are awesome but they are not smudge proof. Not India ink. Not water proof. The brush tips are nice and they're good for hand lettering and calligraphy. But they wouldn't be good for something you're mailing that could get wet . I'm unsure on how it would do in direct sunlight if you were to frame it. ... show more

I liked these a lot. They dried up a little bit after a while but I still get good use out of them even several years later. They also were not as flexible as i would have liked.

The media could not be loaded. I’m updating the review following a replacement. I’m pleased with the quality. The ink is dark and flows well. It took me a minute to change the way I was writing, but once I did the pens worked wonderfully. See new pictures and video. Original: 3 of 5 stars (Damaged nibs (2/3) and dry. Returning. Might be good if not damaged) I can’t give a complete review because two of the three nibs were damaged and one was almost dry. The third (largest size) worked well and had an interesting way of flexing. ... show more

Bought this set of pens for live art events. And, it is a really good set of pens. The positives: The different tips are able to handle multiple drawings. The tips are soft, but durable...and held up while working on illustrations. The ink flow is beautiful! Put up with rapid use. Did 40 illustrations in 4 hours and they held up. Tips did not dry out. The negatives: The metal base for the medium did slip out a bit from the base, causing a bit of ink leakage. But, much better then the tombow alcohol markers which leaked all over. The lettering to let you know the size of tips...should be placed on the pen base, and not the cap, cause they rubbed off. Which caused some slow down. The oils on the hands rubbed off the S/M letters on those pens.(The rest of the printing on the pen itself was fine.) Overall great for drawing and lettering, smooth lines...and work well for live event artists. Just keep an eye on the metal part of the tip on the medium. Definitely worth the value.
