  • Excellent weeder, adjustable length, well made
This crack weeder is just what I needed for cleaning the joint between my driveway and sidewalk. It is well made and sturdy. I like that there are several sections so that you can adjust it to the best length for you. Others I looked at were far too short. With this crack weeder, I don't have to bend over or get on my hands and knees to weed out the crevices between concrete slabs. ... show more

  • well made product
First of all, the product is well made. It's a lightweight metal, it seems strong enough, and has a nice long pole so I don't have to bend over. It is a nearly tool free assembly, and the only two tools you need to put it together are included. The bar twists together and is easy to adjust length just by adding or removing components, this is easy and < 30 second process thanks to the grips on the end of each section. In terms of actual usefulness, the jury is still out. It is sharp, and with the right pressure and angle I found it does successfully extract some types of weeds from some types of cracks. It is less effective on large cracks, and seems to have the sweet spot in very small cracks. Also larger/thicker weeds it would just be easier to bend down and pluck them out. I'm going with 4 stars - well made product, very cool idea, and useful in some scenarios. But - not the magic bullet for all. ... show more

  • Great for gaps in concrete and wood deck for clearing weeds and debris
The media could not be loaded. This manual weeder for crevices works great for clearing weeds and debris. I used it for my sidewalk to manually clear some weeds that continue to come back after line trimming and even trying some weed killers - this tool made quick work and easy to use to keep the area looking great - highly recommend. ... show more

  • Easier on the body
I have a similar tool with a short handle. It works well but at my age working so low to the ground is hard on the back & knees. The blade on this product works as well and a longer handle makes the job easier. The stated purpose for the segmented handle is for adjustability but IMO the real reason is to make the product easier to ship. A sturdier non-adjustable handle would make this a much better tool. ... show more

  • Works as advertised, sturdy tool
I have a concrete driveway with lots of expansion cuts to clean weeds out of. Each year it's a chore to either get down on my knees with a screwdriver, or get out the weedkiller and spray all the cracks. I usually have to do this several times a year. I've seen handheld versions of this type of tool, but again, with a short handle that requires me getting around on my knees. I saw this version with the long handle and had to try it. It's a solid tool, even though the segments screw together to make the long handle. I have a birdfeeder stand with this similar construction and I knew it could make a solid long extension without the joints wiggling. This turned out similarly. Once screwed together, the handle is solid. It also appears to be made of polished stainless steel, as described. Each segment has a plastic grip section to help assemble / disassemble it. You can choose the length of handle you want by how many sections you assemble. I have been using it full length as it allows me to use it at an angle without leaning over. The tool head fits in all the cracks that I need to clean out. It can be used effectively both by pushing and pulling. Most weeds are dug out easily, with just a few I still needed to pull the root out by hand, but the tool loosened up the plant to the point where I could easily grasp it. If you've ever done this task, you know these weeds like to lie flat and are difficult to grip from the top. This tool gets them out. The weeder arrives with the hardware and tools needed to assemble it. It took me about 5 minutes. One note: if you have a set of wrenches, you might want to grab a proper one to tighten the nuts more easily. The flat sheet metal wrench that's provided takes some dexterity to use. This weeder is going to save me some time, aggravation, and weed killer. Recommended! P.S. It arrived with instructions for a different tool. Someone was not paying attention when packing. It's intuitive to assemble, so no instructions were required. ... show more

  • No Screws
Haven't used it yet but the product didn't come with screws. You'd think and expect the product to have the all the components to assemble.

  • Better to spray the weeds
My first impression was that this was too sharp to ship and store without some kind of protective sheath, but maybe it would be worthwhile in taking care of those weeds that love to live in your driveway cracks. Once I tried it out, forget it. It's too thin and not sharp enough to address the weeds. Back and forth, back and forth, and maybe you can get some weeds out. It's just not sharp enough to cut the weeds and too narrow to drag the weeds out. At the same time, it is still too sharp of a tool to have around without some kind of protective cover. One more thing, you're not going to need all of the extensions unless you're clearing weeds from your roof, or you play professional basketball. And this is a silly thing, the included instructions apply to a completely different tool, and there are no instructions for this tool, although it is so simple to assemble you won't need instructions. It does, however, speak to the inattentiveness of the manufacturer such that you're not surprised they did not include a protective cover. Bottom line: I did not like it and had I purchased it outright, I would return it. ... show more

  • Long Handle
This is made of metal. Goes together in a snap. Metal blade at the bottom. No leaning over to use this as it has a long handle. Since it’s made of metal it’s very sturdy . The blade has some width to it, so it unfortunately won’t go in all cracks. I have stone pavers that have space in between, but I can’t use this in the crack as it’s too wide. I have cement spacing on my driveway and it works perfectly for those cracks. Takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it. Great for getting the dirt out of your driveway cracks even if there are no weeds. ... show more
