    • Mostly happy but several complaints
I like them (mostly) but waited a couple weeks and washings before review. Size is good, fit is good, comfortable overall. The fabric seems water repellent and fairly durable. Bellows cargo pockets are reasonable and while they could hold a lot of stuff, they fold and stay reasonably flat. Nice little slash phone pocket on the right leg, and hand pockets have reinforced knife clip areas. Now, my three complaints: First, the fabric is loud. As in crinkly/plastic-like. Not a biggie and maybe with time it will soften somewhat, but it is irritating. Second, there is a weird little horizontal pocket on the front of the left leg. Not sure what it is for, too short and weirdly positioned for a magazine pocket and I do not understand the horizontal configuration. I would have preferred a typical vertical pocket for a magazine or knife, or even another slash/phone pocket. As it is, it's mostly worthless. And third, and this is the biggie which has prevented me from ordering another pair, the front hand pockets are very nice and large BUT the pocket opening is strangely small. The opening is more horizontal with a slight angle, sort of like bluejeans. Most cargo or work type pants have the opening configured more vertical for side entry, as opposed to top entry. For a man with average-large hands, it is just too small. Since these are sold as "tactical" pants, one would assume you could put something like a .380 or 38 spl. in there. It's a squeeze, and a bit of a struggle to get it IN or OUT. The pocket itself is actually big enough for a compact 9mm but it's not going through that opening. Like having a nice barn for your cow but the door is almost too small for the cow to squeeze in! I immediately liked the pants and the price was reasonable and was going to order another pair but these pocket openings was the deal breaker. ... show more

Not sure if my first post is still up. If it is, sorry for the redundancy. Accidentally hit post before I was done and couldn't figure out to edit so I (hopefully correctly) cleared it to start over. My husband loves these pants! Says they're comfortable, easy to move in and look much more professional than wearing jeans to work. He's a plumber which is dirty, wet work. Obviously the water resistance (they're not water proof) doesn't make much of a difference when he has water spraying all over him or is standing ankle deep in water but small drips and such he can wipe off without them soaking through. I like how well they clean up when I wash them. He has a tendency to wipe his hands on his pants when he's working. Much of the chunks of dirt, plaster and caulk can be brushed off pretty easily before washing. Unlike jeans where they soak into fabric and adhere to them making nearly impossible to get really clean and leaving chunks of crud in the bottom of my washer. I'm thinking the water resistance treatment may be part of the reason why. He also loves all the pockets. There's a deeper one for his phone so it doesn't fall out of a back pocket like sometimes happens with jeans. There are also more pockets for the small tools, nuts, bolts and various small plumbing pieces he needs to carry. He's had them for about 4 months now and they're holding up great and still look good. I got the first ones on sale but even at full price I'm planning to buy several more pairs. A perfect fit for everything is accurate, the size is exact and flexible – unbelievable comfortable and as to the lining and pocket shapes and functions it’s almost intuitive, Cell phone slides into a pocket fits unusually perfect, just outside of that is a specialized pocket for a boot knife or anything slender you would want on the outside, things tend to not fall out even upside down as I do tree work. Absolutely rip proof water resistant and any belt will work, you could do without a belt but military style belts fit along with climbing style belts. my first time buying some thing besides do usual suspects for tree work, the tactical applications are extensive so perfect for hunting and fishing also. The kind of pants you buy and then buy a couple more pairs just to have them because it just fits so right. I haven’t really found any downsides. I definitely suggest getting a flexible military style belt then you can just let the pants do their thing. Comfort, range of motion, Applicable to any activity- Just works. ... show more
