Wish they had an actual locking pin. The screw style with plastic sleeve is okay but its not as secure as a locking pin. 70mph driving on the highway /wash business. Other then that i think these are amazing reels. Clearly i have 3 of them. They are sturdy. Also the handles are great. Ive had multiple other brands and the handles would fall off die to bad design but cox got it right! ... show more

OK, I honestly HATE leaving any bad or semi bad feedback. I first purchased a 500 foot reel, Was so excited to get the first professional grade reel. We ended up delaying building the trailer for almost two years . When We did get around to it we tried to install the new reel out of the box. When attempting to thread the inner fitting to tie the hose to the reel you could not because during the manufacturing process COX allowed welding slag to get on the threads rendering the reel 100% unusable , I will give credit where credit is due. I contacted them and they did make it right. Even though the reel was actually 2 years old BUT still brand new they sent an updated new 500 foot model. It did take them months to get it to me due to a order back ups. My excited returned! The reel was heavy duty and we mounted on the trailer. During its first use the the pivoting fitting on the outside of the reel was already dripping. Its only gotten worse. While aggravating the reel is still usable. Secondly and even more aggravating is the stripping of the reel tensioning assembly. WHY would you make something out of Plastic that is supposed stop a heavy reel with hose on it? Now we have to use a twist tie every time we wind the hose up to secure it. Is the reel still usable ...Yes, Does Still leak..,YES- from day #1 ... Still using twist ties to secure the reel from un-winding going down the road....YES - from Day #1. Otherwise it holds the 500 foot of hose and works just not what one would expect from a new product. ( Got mine my directly from COX) ... show more

    • Cheap price works for 6 months to a year but you get what you pay for.

There's no bearings in the wheel. They use cheap plastic in almost every part of it that breaks after only a few months of work but the price still is almost worth it as ones that have all the nice features with nice bearings and everything else cost three times as much so I can buy three of these cheaper ones in the time that I can buy an expensive one that will only last me maybe a year or two for those. Like buying a predator small motor versus a Honda hunters are great but they're almost $500 and my $99 predator from harbor freight is still running great after 3 years of daily use as long as I do great maintenance and upkeep it they work great and for a $20 extra I can get a 2-year warranty where no questions asked I bring it in they give me another one so even if it were to wear out sooner I could still get another replacement. Even if they only lasted a year instead of the 3 years they've lasted me I could buy one a year and still spend less than having the Honda that at 4 or 5 years is likely going to start having problems and need to be rebuilt anyways ... show more

I bought two of these bad boys. They’re good. They look like they’re well made and hold a lot of hose, but. As you can see in my pictures I have one of them with garden hose. That one is great 10 out of 10, the only complain I have is that it holds maximum I’d say 250 ft. I have 200 ft currently. On the other hand I have my pressure hose one, that one got messed up, I’ve been using the reel for about two months now and it just wrinkled with the pressure I guess, so now it’s hard to roll. But it still works and I guess there’s nothing I can do at this point. Overall they’re good, but I’ve seen others that are a little more expensive and are better quality. ... show more
