This was SO worth the cost, which was surprisingly low. I mounted the unit on the side of a built-in shelf in the garage in just minutes including all of the connections. Works great. I do not like the air leak at the swivel connections, but I figure this may be typical. I would hope to hear something from anyone who has purchased a recoiling air-hose unit to see if this is indeed common. Aside from that, I am very satisfied. ...and yes, I would recommend this item to a friend (just as quick as I am recommending to you) :-) ... show more

Just bought and mounted this reel in my barn, to get the air hose tangle off the ground. Comes with expansion bolts for mounting, but I needed to mount to a 12" pole, so I used lag bolts (not supplied). The bracket could be a few inches taller to make turning the mounting bolts easier. You will need a socket or ratchet wrench to tighten the bolts because the coiled air hose is in the way. I guess you could unwind the hose before mounting, but that would probably require a helper. The reel pulls and retracts as it should, and the fittings did not leak. ... show more

    • Lasted 2 1/2 years before the ratchet broke

This hose reel was fine while it lasted. After 2 1/2 years it wore out a plastic part and the ratchet doesn't work anymore. It is always trying to roll the hose back in. I guess for $90, it was worth the money.
