Fantastic powder for pale, dry, sensitive skin

As someone with dry, sensitive skin I need to use rich moisturizers which can leave my face a bit shiny. I like to tone down the shine with a bit of translucent powder but find nearly all of them to either dry out my skin, cause irritation, or be too dark in color (I am extremely pale). This Cover Gi
rl powder in translucent is by far the best powder I have ever used. The white color doesn’t go on chalky and also doesn’t darken as the day goes on. I can’t speak to whether the white translucent shade would be an ideal choice for darker skin tones but as a pale person it is amazing. Applied with a fluffy brush, the powder dampens the shine down to a lovely glow with no tightness or itching (even after touch-ups). The compact stays closed in my purse and I carry a brush along for on-the-go touch-ups. If I have a complaint it is that the powder can get quite crumbly once you reach the pan (as do most pressed powders) but I still find I’m able to use up 95%+ of the product. I have gone through 6 or 7 of these over the last few years and have no interest in trying other powders which says a lot!

This actually works! I've stopped using foundation and use a small brush to cover lines and discolorations with a light shade of this powder, then I go over my face with a beige powder that's closer to my skin color. It doesn't collect in wrinkles and lines the way foundation does.

Should have went a shade darker

I bought this color due to. It says you should go a shade or two lighter than your foundation. When I use this, it was definitely white. I should’ve went darker one shade. I don’t think I will use this COLOR again. I used it once and we try to give it away or it will go in the garbage.

Better than expensive brands!

I was using IT cosmetics and it didn't conceal lines like I wanted. Cover Girl did that and more. It glides on smoothly, covers small ages pots and doesn't look cakey. A win win for older women!

I purchased the translucent shade and it's to white for my skin tone. It was a bit powdery and cakey for my skin but would probably look good for normal leaning oily skin.

Translucent is white but...

Just like my title says, the translucent color is white in the container, but barely white on the skin. If you're tan, it might show lighter. If you're pale, you can pull off the translucent. If not, I'd suggest getting a tinted one.
