I have dry/combination skin and I tend to get oily in my t-zone throughout the day. I’ve tried a lot of loose setting powders working in the beauty industry. Talc-free powders don’t give nearly the same effect as powder containing talc. With talc-free powders I’m left with a shimmering finish under the eyes and any place I put it. They replace the talc with mica which is in highlighters. So for that reason I always come back to the Coty Airspun loose powder. It keeps my skin looking great all day long. It does a great job at controlling the oiliness I deal with everyday. When my makeup starts to fade after 8+ hours of wear, my skin doesn’t look greasy. I also like to use loose setting powder to set under my eyes and any other areas that tend to crease. Again, with this powder I don’t get any creases throughout the day. I’ve used Coty translucent powder for years. I mix it with a little dark mineral powder to get my desired shade and coverage. However, when I logged into Amazon to re-order, I discovered that the price is over $16.00. I’ve never paid that much; in fact I found it yesterday in my local supermarket/drug store for $8.00. Also, in reading the reviews I see that the formula has been changed to remove talc. I cannot address the many complaints about that, as I haven’t used any of the talc-free powder yet. ... show more

I purchased this because I was on the hunt for a cheaper alternative to my Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. The three things that I look for in a translucent powder are: 1) it doesn't flash back at all, 2) it is finely milled, and 3) it will last all day (or about 10 hours). I gave it 3 stars because of the packaging, smell, and longevity of the powder. I heard amazing reviews on this through amazon and youtube so I thought I should give this a try in hope that it would be my new found favorite. Packaging: My initial thought on the powder when I first opened it was that, it is messy. The top cover isn't a twist on/off, you just pull/pop off the lid which can sometimes make the powder fly everywhere and it then makes it inconvenient for me if I want to go traveling with it. I'd have to find another container to put it in or I'd have to tape it around because I wouldn't want to risk it opening up in my bag and spilling everywhere if anything were to happen. Smell: The second thing that I noticed right off the bat was the smell. I'm not one to be picky with scent, I sometimes enjoy when there is a scent however the Coty AirSpun Loose Face Powder has a very intense smell in my opinion. I actually try to avoid using the powder because of it. I thought maybe after a couple minutes my nose would adjust to the scent but it lingers for a while and it's become too much for me. Because my face is fairly sensitive and acne prone, I worry that the scent or whatever ingredient is put in here to give it that smell, may break me out. For the most part it hasn't but I haven't consistently used this powder long enough to know whether it does or not. Longevity: As for the longevity, I would say that it is okay. It holds for about 4 hours I'd say? I only really use powder to set my under eye concealer from creasing. I don't use a thick concealer, and whenever I use this product by the time I get home from school which is about 4 hours of wear time, I notice the outside corners of my eye have concealer bunched up. I could easily pat it out with my finger but that sometimes removes the product or requires me to reapply and I don't prefer to carry any makeup on me when I go to school for only 4 hours. I would also like to mention that I have normal to dry skin but have minimal to normal oils on my T zone by the time I come home from school. When I use this product on my T zone, I still notice a lot of oil when I come home. I would say that this powder is very finely milled and it does not flash back at all so I do appreciate that a lot. On a side note, because I was somewhat disappointed with the powder mainly because of longevity and smell, I purchased the RCMA No Color Powder and that has been my go to. ... show more

I've been using the translucent Airspun face powder since 2021, only straying away once. This is truly the best and a must in my makeup routine. It gives a matte finish but really helps me achieve a look that is both matte and slightly dewy. I put it right over my foundation and will occasionally reapply in the evening if i'm looking too shiny. I love that it's a natural, not cakey look. It is lightly perfumed.
