  • Nice bag, but mostly useless hip belt
Pros: -Back panel mesh is squishy pretty comfy - Interior organization is top-notch. -The whole thing is pretty much waterproof already. Not sure why they include a rainfly... -Zippers are quite robust and very theft-proof. -Stowable straps. This is potentially a game changer if you want to pass-off your 35L backpack as a personal item at the airport. Cons: -No shoe compartment. -Back panel doesn't have air channels. -Straps are minimally padded (probably comes hand-in-hand with them being stowable). -Hip belt. This is a big one. Seems like an afterthought in the design. Its one of the narrowest, flimsiest hip belts I've ever seen on a backpack (well, except for the 28L version which is more like a seatbelt). There is one zippered pocket that's so small you might be able to squeeze in a stick of gum (not exaggerating). If I stand upright, the belt is completely above my hip bones, so it really doesn't do anything. If I loosen the straps to let the bag sag some, I get more weight resting on the hips, but the bag is considerably far away from my back, which isn't good either. All tests done with ~12kg of load. This would be good as a light-load backpack. Maybe the hip belt issue isn't as problematic for shorter torsoed individuals (I'm 6'11" and lanky). In any case, I'll probably be returning this for a bag that distributes weight to the hips better, like the Eagle Creek Global Companion. ... show more

  • Great travel pack for packing light
Color: Spruce 35l
I bought this to pack light for a 10 day trip and it did wonderfully. Very durable, great organization sections, easy access, and good security. I was able to pack 2 pairs of pants, 9 tops, a dress, pajamas, a pair of shoes, bathing suit, socks, undies, etc. I still had a bit of space left. It's even comfortable to carry when fully packed. The only negatives I've found are that the rain fly might be a bit unnecessary (I walked around for about an hour in rain with it off and nothing was moist), and the option for stowing the shoulder straps isn't super convenient. It met the overhead compartment size for icelandair (which are on the small side). Overall, a fantastic pack. ... show more

  • Great pack!!!
I bought this because I had a trip planned to Asia and I had just had foot surgery and had to be on a scooter. I could not take a full case like I normally do. This thing is super tough. I also bought the Cotopaxi Batac. It is designed to roll up and fit into the top pocket on the Allpa. Perfect to use as a laptop or hiking pack once I got to Asia. Also on the way back, I used both packs so I could bring back extra stuff. one goes in the overhead and one under your seat. I like this set up so much, I will likely use it instead of luggage going forward and for those that have to pay for luggage, this is a great solution. I was able to pack for a one week trip easily. Only two cons... Because the pack is so tough, it weighs a lot empty but I doubt it will ever break. Second is the price, but I guess you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Never could've taken this trip without this pack!
Color: Spruce 35l
I spent a week in London and Paris over Christmas with the transportation strike going on in Paris. Because of this, I ended up walking to all but 2 of my destinations, with all of my belongings. The pack was durable and the way the interior is separated made for even distribution of all of my junk. I even found a couple of secret pockets that I didn't realize I even had. I found so much room throughout my travels that I emptied out the "carry on" bag I brought with and stored everything including that "carry on" bag in this pack! Even stuffed to the gills, I was able to get it into the compartment on the airplane. The multiple handles on the exterior allow you to carry it whichever way is convenient at the time. I like it so much that I'll be replacing my Patagonia sling bag for one of their smaller 20L packs. I am an organizational junkie and everything had a place in this pack. I would give more stars if I could. You won't be disappointed. ... show more

  • Amazing amount of room
I traveled to Africa for 10 days with this back pack. I couldn't believe how much room it had. I was even able to pack my ipad. I had this bag, a fanny pack, and a tote : no checked luggage at all. It will be my go to bag from here on out

  • Plastic front shows every scratch
Color: Black 35L + New Waist Belt!
Recently used for a long weekend- had plenty of room, all positive reviews are correct- except- the plastic front of my (black) bag has permanent scratch marks from riding the super short trip through security twice- and being shoved into overhead bins. Bag fit- but the straps and the plastic both catch and won’t allow the bag to slide into tight places. This was a gentle city hop- and I can’t imagine what it will look like when I ask it to work. I am nervous about sending it back to seller- will they take it with those scratches? It certainly looks used, so they won’t be able to resell. ... show more

  • Great for airline travel
Color: Indigo 35l + New Waist Belt!
I got this for one-bagging while flying and it has been great on the three trips I've had it on. Plenty of space for me to pack all of my clothes, electronics, and toiletries for a week long trip. The inside organization helps keep smaller things easy to find and the larger areas fit packing cubes very well. I like the burly construction and the material, though it isn't waterproof, helps keep things dry if you get caught in the rain. One important note: I have used it on budget airlines as my personal item before when I don't want to pay for a carry-on bag. Most of the time it has been fine but there was one gate attendant who almost didn't let me take it on without paying because I had to squish it to fit in the box they use to check the size of your bags. If you're flying one of these airlines just be sure not to completely stuff it or go with the 28L size instead. ... show more
