Back now in May, I got my hands on the Cotopaxi Allpa 35L Travel Pack, and I have to say, it's a game-changer for anyone who loves to travel smart and with a bit of style. The durable nylon shell feels tough enough to handle rugged terrain yet remains lightweight enough not to weigh me down. Hubby did a lot of research to find suitable bags for us to take on a 4 1/2 month travel. Even though for 3 us these seemed pricey the other cheaper option just seemed cheap and likely to fall apart quickly. So we invested in these bags - one for each of my husband, me and our 13yr old. SO glad. They traveled so well and have many features that made them great. Zippered in half so you can pack both sides. Zipper compartment on back for computer. Zipper compartment on front for easy access items. Comfortable backpack straps and waist straps - both which tuck away (which we used for going on planes - easier to put in the overhead or under the seats when the straps aren't out). Handles on side and top for alternative carrying options. Material was sturdy and made it though many trains, planes, etc without any rips or tears. I'm not really a big fan of backpacks but I needed one. This is light and easy on my back when loaded. It has plenty of compartments. It's easy to organize the zippers move freely and the colors are bright. The one thing I wish it had was a sleeve so I could slip it over the handle of one of my rolling bags. ... show more

This is my first Cotopaxi bag and I have to say I absolutely love it! I purchased this for a recent two week trip to France. I decided to not check a bag for the trip and needed a good roomy travel backpack to go with my existing carry on bag that I've used for years. Almost everything about this bag was just amazing! It is very well built and sturdy (zippers, straps, etc.) and is so thoughtfully designed and laid out. Pairing this with my other carry on bag, I was easily able to pack everything for my two week trip. I did have it pretty stuffed full of items but never had any issues using it as my personal item. Although I would say it was too bulky to stow under my seat on the plane. This may not be an issue if the bag is not filled so full. Every little detail about this bag is great. I do with this one came with the exterior bottle pouch, but not a huge deal. I loved using this bag and actually want to buy the 28L backpack and 38L roller bag to use in the future. I think that would be a perfect combination for traveling without checking a suitcase. ... show more

I wanted to wait a bit and use the backpack before I reviewed it. Overall its a fantastic backpack for travel or work. It can hold a lot of stuff. The way it folds opens (like a suitcase) to access your items is a very nice design. I also really like the quick access zippers on each side of the backpack: one for a laptop/ipad and a 2nd zipper to access the large storage compartment. Those are great. I like the small internal storage as well for items I dont use all the time and its even got a small hidden pocket for passports, money, etc. Another feature I like is it has a removable hip belt. I use this mainly for travelling/work and being able to remove the hip belt makes it more comfortable to carry. I am 6'4" and it just hangs funny with the hip belt. Lastly, the only negative is the lack of a water bottle holder. And to me its sort of a big one. I didn't realize how much I used a water bottle holder and it is a lot. Now I have to zip it onto the top and hope it doesn't fall to the bottom. Overall this is a great bag and the uniqueness of it is what caught my attention in the 1st place. I've had this bag now for a couple years, and have used it on dozens of weekend to two-week long trips. It holds a ton, is designed in such a way that everything is conveniently accessible, is very tough, is comfortable to wear for long stretches navigating airports and the like, and fits under the seat or in any overhead. Plus, I get compliments on the bag on nearly every trip I take with it.
