The chest part has a hydrolic pump where it won't just slam on your kids fingers and it's magnetic to keep it shut, it also is very versatile. I am 102lbs and 5'1 so where I am so small I can even sit on this comfortably and it not break or anything. This product was easy to assemble with easy to read instructions. All of the pieces came in great quality and very stable! All of the parts to build this multi-use storage box came neatly packaged and labeled- no parts were missing or damaged. It is definitely worth its money value. The design of the product allows for some storage space and a great desk for kids. My son is 2 and absolutely loves it. The storage space isn’t very large but is a great option for storing small toys, stuffed animals, arts and crafts etc. The reason I'm giving this product a 4/5 is because it did come with a really weird smell( went away after I wiped it down/ cleaned it). I bought this for my grandson because he was coming to stay with us for a year. I never leave reviews but this thing was horrible. it broke in 2 months. first it became loose then one arm rest came off exposing the large screws. if he sat back on it, it would have done serious damage to his back. then the other arm came off. and for the cost. 3 stars because the items itself is as described and works well. However, I bought a new product, and the lid/seat and one other part were clearly used before. All other pieces were new, so not sure how this happened. The screw holes were scratched/widened from use, and there is some cosmetic damage. I’d have initiated a return, however, my child saw it at the unboxing and it simply wasn’t worth the tears to try and send it back when the item was still functional. This thing is great! The quality is way better than expected. It’s definitely sturdy and well made. I believe it’s composite wood, but you really can’t tell. Set was easy. My only complaint was the instructions did not explain the hinge orientation and we wound up having to take out off and reposition it, but everything else was straight forward. I got this because she has too many toys, and I wanted to condense everything into this storage container and a few other small ones. The storage part is way bigger than I thought it would be because it fit all her toys that were already in a tub. I also love the table because I’m in a small apartment, so now it doubles as her eating space. That means when she eats her toys go away and they’re out of sight. It's smaller than I expected but if it's for a toddler then I should've guessed it was going to be small. I put it together and the instructions were a little complicated but I eventually figured it out and got it. There are some parts like the lid where it's literally just a hole so I would recommend CAREFULLY to use a drill.
