  • Genuinely a great ladder, easy 5 stars
Style: 3 Step
Has withstood test of time and abuse. Got this over a year ago. It has been used for many home upgrade projects. I remember shopping very discriminately on Amazon for a ladder - I wanted it to allow me to reach 8'-9' ceilings comfortably (I'm 5'8, 230lbs and I have to duck my head slightly when standing on the top step), to be lightweight and yet strong and durable, and to have a convenient method of setup/teardown. In hindsight, I can't imagine any other ladder ticking all these boxes as boldly as this ladder does. It is a godsend and I am back to buy a 2nd one right now as I write this. You may be thinking it's a bit lengthier than other ladders, because it has the top shelf part above the top step, and thus less space savvy. That top part lends greatly to 3 valuable things from what I can tell. 1) balance/stability when standing on top step. 2) it's a shelf, so it can hold stuff 3) a functional design and form factor that is strong, efficient, and simple. So there you have it. Genuinely a great ladder and worth every penny. Easy 5 stars. ... show more

  • Extremely light ladder
Style: 3 Step
I was surprised how light this ladder is! The technical details state that it's 7.5 pounds, but I wasn't sure how that would feel to me when picked up. It's super-easy to move around. It's also sturdy. I have used it in the kitchen many times to reach the high cupboards. I feel very secure on the top platform. The original reason that I bought it is to put food for birds and squirrels in a container on a tree branch so that others won't remove the food, which has happened more than once. I will set that up this summer. By the way, there aren't any gardens that the squirrels might get into. It's in a city apartment area. Many people have asked about the actual elevation that one gets from the floor or ground to the top platform. I used a metal measuring tape. It's 33 1/2 inches. From the floor or ground to the very top, it's about 50 3/4 inches, but it says not to stand on that part. So, standing on the top platform, you would gain almost 3 feet in elevation. Then, with your arms reaching over your head, you would gain more, depending on the length of your arms. ... show more

  • solid after two years
Style: 3 Step
I wasn't sure about the quality of this when I purchased it but I'm amazed at the quality. I've used it at least once a week over the course of two years, sometimes more for big projects like painting all the shutters on my single story house. It's quite stable, and even standing on the third black step doesn't feel too sketchy. In the last few months I've started to notice that it has just a little more give to it, but I still feel safe standing on it. For reference, I'm about 155 pounds, and I do sort of question the stated 225 pound limit. Probably wouldn't be an issue for the two metal steps, but if I weighed 70 pounds more, I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable standing on the black platform. ... show more

  • Works great for most household tasks and its light weight makes it easy for almost anyone to carry
Style: 3 Step
I love this thing and try to use it instead of my Little Giant telescoping ladder if I need something within its reach because of the lightweight. It's perfect because it's for jobs that require something taller than a step stool but shorter than a 6' ladder. This should address most of your indoor needs w/o having to lug around the heavy, larger ladder, which is probably overkill. The little tray at the top of the ladder can be used to hold your screws, and will hold a drill even though it might not fit completely on the tray. I've used this many times to install smoke detectors, adjust and clean my ceiling fans, and mount pictures and clock high on the wall. Great for simple jobs but probably wouldn't use it to install heavy items outdoors on non-level surfaces such as grass or dirt like you might do w/ a heavy duty ladder. ... show more

  • Good for what it is, but not worth more than $40.
Style: 3 Step
I got this ladder to reach an… attic? (I don’t know what you would call those areas above your house you’re not supposed to actually go in, because they’re filled with insulation, because I’ve never had one before. I still store some empty boxes up there anyways.) Unfortunately for me, the actual ladder isn’t tall enough in terms of what you’re supposed to do… But I happen to be light enough that I can stand on the top part of the ladder (the tool tray, where you’re not supposed to stand), which is my only option if I want to reach the “attic,” so this ladder serves that purpose well. I’ve also noticed the price has increased a good deal from the 39.98 I purchased it at… So when I was looking for ladders, it was under my $40 budget. Most of the ladders that would have served my needs better were 10+ more than I was willing to spend, but since the price hike is comparable to those other brands, I would suggest getting one that matched your height needs better. PROS: -Lightweight, yet sturdy construction. -Takes up minimal space when closed. -When closed, I’m able to use it to hang clothes or empty hangers on, so it serves a dual purpose. -Slip-resistant treads on the steps. CONS: -Isn’t actually high enough for me to reach where I need to reach without stepping on the part of the ladder you’re not supposed to stand on (the tool tray). -Even on a level surface, I found the ladder to be slightly wobbly. Not enough to alarm me (it’s only a few feet off the ground, after all) but enough to be warrant some degree of caution. ... show more

  • So much lighter, easier, and better than a traditional 2-step ladder
Style: 2 Step
The light weight is the killer feature of this step ladder, but it is better in every way than a traditional 2-step ladder. It also collapses very slim for storage, and offers the handle which improves stability. Not to mention how easy it is to open and close, as compared to a ladder with hinges that you have to push down and up to open and close (which can pinch fingers). We have this two step and a taller version that are perfect for most projects around the house. Save yourself from lugging around ladders that are more heavy and more difficult to operate! ... show more
