I have tried almost every reasonably priced (sub $100) gaming mouse with at least 5 custom buttons that is designed for larger hands and this one consistently performs the best. One issue that I run into consistently with the other mouses (mice?) is that they are not fully compatible with Mac computers, which is what I use them on. Corsair mouses (mice? haha) are one of the few exceptions with their ICUE platform. The Good: The Shape/Size - fits my larger hands comfortably and rarely leads to cramping during long sessions The layout - I can easily access every single custom button, which makes them actually usable, as opposed to having custom buttons that take more time to find and hit accurately than not using a custom button at all. I love the double custom button layout on the front of the left-click button—they are my most used and most easily accessible. The back DPI is the only "hard-to-reach", but that particular button is never easy to reach, regardless of the mouse it's on. The Feel - Both the literal feel of the mouse (matte/non-slip) and the mechanical feel of the inputs feel great. When the inputs are too loose or flimsy, it doesn't make for a good user experience. The Bad: ICUE - Although it is largely customizable, it is still not very intuitive and almost caused me to return the product several years ago when I first purchased this mouse. Once you get it figured out, it's really powerful, but there is definitely a little learning curve. Quality Control - This is where I actually deducted the star. I have purchased about 4 of these mice so far and have had to send one in for repairs and return another two to repurchase as the buttons were loose or didn't work at all. If I hadn't received a functioning mouse the first time, I would have assumed the mouse wasn't for me, because I've come across several of these that had broken buttons or the mouse wheel was completely disconnected. I knew they were faulty due to having a working one, but out of my 6-7 purchases of this mouse, I believe 2 or 3 were faulty and needed swapping, which is way too high of a percentage to "write off" and not mention. Conclusion: If the quality control were figured out, this would be a perfect 5/5 stars, but the inconsistencies justify a 4/5. It is still my go-to because it IS that much better than every other mouse I've tested, but just know that you may have to buy a few to get one that actually works as intended. The mouse wheel should have a tactile feel as it spins and each button should operate smoothly, with just enough resistance. Each custom button should be programmed and tested as well. For example, my current mouse disconnects from ICUE when I press one of the custom buttons, despite it not being mapped to anything, which makes it (that button) unusable. I still use the mouse as everything else works properly, but I didn't come across that defect until after the return period ended. I always have another one of these as a backup, because I really do enjoy the (working) version far more than anything else I've tested. ... show more

    • Great mouse, but not USB-C and TERRIBLE SOFTWARE!!!

I needed a new mouse... because you know, I don't have enough of the 20ish mice I bought in the past 15 years and that all have 'expired' in some way because of software deprecation, rubber sides peeling et al. So I tried a few from $150 cordless charging to $50 corded. All branded. Even a Millennium Falcon themed one, because <geek alert>. I wanted a cordless, and after trying a few other cordless (wireless) my choice stopped on the Ironclaw. Why? Because it fits great in my hand. It is higher than most other mice and therefore my palm is not too arched and is resting well on the mouse when using it. The placement of the buttons is a little weird and needs some getting used to, but I'm not going to use this for MOBA so I don't really care. Again, the 2 main factors for me were: wireless and comfort. There's the lack of USB-C and this is using mini-usb instead, which really doesn't look like is going to last forever, ie might eventually break. But I guess it's fine. I also don't care about wireless charging, because it's useless and they're charging you a premium for it as of 2023. Then came the moment to set it up. And boy, this is the BIGGEST JOKE OF A PRODUCT EVER! Come on, this is 2023!!!! First, there is NO SETUP INSTRUCTION for the mouse. Not online, not on the quick setup guide. Nothing. It's like Corsair never actually made one. I've got a few Corsair products, including my RGB led fans et al. Like many of us know, Corsair's RGB software iCUE is a pretty poor proposition, like not doing well when mixing the fan types. iCUE also manages all other hardware from Corsair, including keyboards, mice etc. Getting back to the mouse setup, iCUE is needed to set it up, even though speed and basic button functions are already set. Bottomline, you can't customize the mouse if you don't have iCUE setup on the PC. For me it's fine since I have a ton of RGB corsair gear to manage. The BIG problem is, iCUE will not simultaneously recognize the mouse and the WiFi Slipstream dongle it comes with. It either recognizes the dongle or the mouse. In either case, you're stuck with using the mouse... wired. USELESS. There's a TON OF POSTS online about this problem, and this is dating back a few years now. It took me hours to follow instructions from those posts to try to make this work. Eventually I'm stuck in a permanent loop of 'INSTALL DONGLE, INSTALL MOUSE, INSTALL DONGLE, INSTALL MOUSE...'. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. And then I thought, why don't I try to install the older version of iCUE (thankfully still available on Corsair's website). And guess what, that works, INCLUDING MANAGING THE RGB fans PROPERLY!!! As usual, hardware manufacturers are terrible at software, except perhaps for some companies like motherboard OEMs (but we know the problems attached to running Armoury Crate for instance). Corsair is no exception. But in this case this is worse: obviously Corsair will make more money if we buy new mice, keyboards, fans etc. And what better way to encourage us to do so than confusing us with software compatibility and troubleshooting that doesn't exist... Again, great comfort (for my hands) but inexistent software support and integration. I'm on the fence to returning it tbh. ... show more
