  • They work great and they look good.
I watched plenty of reviews on this headset before pulling the trigger. They all commented on the sound quality and they were correct. They're clear, not too bassy, and the 7.1 is great for games and movies. I love the way they look, but more importantly how they're built. The plastic brackets on my other Corsair headset started to fall apart. When I saw that these were made from cut aluminium I was quite happy. They feel sturdy and well made. The price is outstanding for the quality you get. The RGB is a little gimmicky because you can't see the lights while wearing them and I'm not usually surrounded by a lot of people just so they can witness the color-changing effect. The kids think it's cool but I find it to be just a waste of energy. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this pair and I'll continue to be a Corsair customer. ... show more

  • Excellent gaming headphones
High quality sound. Comfortable. I like how it includes so many different connectivity options (3.5 mm, usb-A/C, wireless dongle, and Bluetooth. I haven’t had the best track record with Amazon refurbs in the past, but so far so good on this one. Will update if this stops being the case.

  • Sounds Great but short battery life
First, I would like to say I am impressed with the sound. I am picky when it comes to sound. I have multiple DACs, over the ear headphones, and IEMs. In terms of overall sound quality (especially when it comes to music), these are up there, and can rival headphones I have that are much more expensive. The mic works decently, but of the box the levels are anemic. Even with every possible boost available in Windows I sounded muted compared to other mics I have. After I installed a piece of 3rd party software called Equalizer APO, I was able to adjust the levels and the mic sounds ok. I still think some of my wired mics sound better (in particular a combination of Pyle Microphone XLR-to-USB Signal Adapter and Movo LV4-O Phantom Power Omnidirectional XLR Lavalier Microphone). But my cats love to chew on my mic cables too much, so wireless is a must. The headset is comfortable. In terms of over-the-ear headphones I would put it 3rd after my Sennheiser 650s and Bose QuietComfort 35s. I feel like the volume and power buttons on this headset are very large, easy to find, and intuitive to use. Some headsets are not quite so intuitive. My only real complaint is the battery life. For such a large headset I figured they would go 8+ hours without issue. Around the 4 hour mark, however, the headset will start to beep periodically, increasing in frequency as the battery continues to drain. I get around it by either turning the headset off when not in use, or leaving it plugged up to a USB cable (which kind of defeats the purpose of wireless, but I can unplug the cable and use it wirelessly, when needed). Maybe there is a way to disable the beeping, but I have not found it. Overall, these are my preferred wireless headphones for now, beating out competitors like Jabra Evolve 75 MS (which are uncomfortable). ... show more

  • It's sturdy, and it works ok.
First of all, if you buy this "refurbished", definitely check it carefully. This is the second Corsair headset that I or my girlfriend have bought where the first one arrived DOA. However, second times the charm. This headset is very sturdy, which is my primary reason for purchasing it, over the previous ones I have bought, which had plastic bands and always eventually broke at the band. I have no doubt that this headset will hold up physically as it appears to be well built in that regard. The problems with this headset are many, but none are complete deal breakers for me. The first problem (which kind of comes with the territory) is that it is heavy and causes a bit of strain to wear for very many hours. If this is a problem for you, you'll probably want to look elsewhere. The ear cups were not deep enough for my ears, so I immediately had to buy some aftermarket ones to make the headset more comfortable. Now on to the features/problems with the actual functionality. This headset has mediocre range. If I walk more than about 20 feet from my computer, I can't hear anything, so I believe the range advertised is...optimistic to say the least. The most annoying problem is that there is no power-off button. You either let it sit for 10 minutes with no audio and it may shut off, or you have to swap the switch for wired, versus wireless. So to turn it off if it is plugged in to USB, you swap it to wireless mode, and visa versa if it isn't plugged in. It is not very intuitive. The mic is actually really good quality, though not particularly sensitive. The headset claims to noise cancel, but I see absolutely no evidence of this. It had ear cups that block a lot of sound, but I do not think it does any digital noise canceling which again seems like misleading advertising to me, but isn't a deal breaker. It's possible that I just haven't figured out how to activate this feature, but in that case it is extremely non-intuitive and not on by default. The headset cannot remember any settings. You are nearly forced to use the Corsair iCue software. You absolutely must use this software if you want some mic feedback in your ear as you talk so you don't end up shouting. This leads to the other annoying problem is that every time you turn off and turn the headset back on, it forgets the prior volume and always starts at very low volume, so you have to turn it up every...single...time... All said, I don't think I would purchase this headset again. It works, the mic quality is excellent, the sound quality is great. I have no complaints with the battery life (other than it goes from "full" to needing to charge rather suddenly, but you'll get 16-20 hours of life, in my experience). It is physically well built, and the wireless range is...acceptable to me, but far less than what is advertised, unfortunately it suffers from a bunch of software issues, and Corsair appears to have spent a lot more time in their iCUE app focuses on making the dumb RGB lights blink various patterns, then actual functional issues. ... show more
