I always buy Corelle products because of their good quality. I have other Corelle products that are almost 12 years old and still looks like new. I bought this dinner plate to accommodate guests visiting us. When I unboxed this, I immediately feel the poor quality compared to my other Corelle products. The texture of the plate is not as smooth, the design is rough, and the weight feels cheap. Another thing I noticed is that with my older Corelle plates, the branding is more detailed and all of them are perfectly centered, but with this dinner plates, the branding is off centered on most of them, and not as detailed as my older ones. At first, my impressions didn't matter, but after one washing in the dish washer, 2 of the plates have chipped on the edges. My older Corelle plates survived the dishwasher for the past 12 years and still looks pristine and brand new, but these plates from Amazon already got chipped after 2 washings. Overall, if I will compare this to my older Corelle plates, these looks fake to me. I'm not sure if Corelle's quality standards have deteriorated over the years, but definitely this doesn't feel like the Corelle products I'm used to. I won't recommend this product. ... show more

Corelle dishes are very durable. We've had a plain white set for over 10 years, and I believe they were hand-me-downs from an older relative, so no telling how old they are and still look brand new. This set is much prettier, but feels like the same materials and durability. I felt like the set I received had consistent coloring and looked nice together. They are light weight and stack easily, but will not feel like fine dishes, and the design is printed, not hand painted. These dress up our every day meals, but I like a slightly larger, heavier, and better quality image/painting for my fancier formal dishes. I read the negative and positive reviews. I liked the pattern so I decided to buy the 6 Portifino pattern dishes and see for myself. The 6 Portifino pattern dishes were delivered timely and in perfect condition. I carefully inspected each dish and hand washed each one. Fortunately, the 6 Portifino dishes that were sent to me did not contain any of the serious imperfections that appear in the photos posted by others. I think the Portifino pattern is supposed to resemble Italian handmade pottery, which is almost perfect but not intended to be totally perfect because it is handmade. The 6 dishes that I received are as well made and substantial as any of the Corelle or Corning-ware pieces that I own, and I own a lot of them. The 6 Portifino pattern dishes stack neatly and sit flat. The imprint is not rough. It is smooth. The pattern on the 6 dishes sent to me match each other almost exactly. There are some slight variations in the depth of color that (in my opinion) add interest, charm, and a more authentic look to the Portifino pattern. Ive owned many patterns but I must say this one Portofino is truly a timeless classic! Love my cuts hearts and flowers and bees and vines Ive had on several different sets but after a while it becomes dated. I think this is a true classic and will be in high demand long after its production cycle ends. love love love it. my sets and add on pieces all arrived in perfect condition and have had many trip thru dishwasher and microwave and to the table and back again. my only complaint is the pitcher. Its just not corelle quality and has a smooshed look to it. And I was seriously disappointed to see it was MADE IN CHINA unlike all my other corelle piece which are clearly made in USA. so I guess that answers the quality issue for the pitcher Its sad to see an American ICON start outsourcing their legacy ... show more

We've had Corelle plates and bowls of various designs for about 15 years now. We got them initially due to our other sets slowly being lost to breakage when we ended up with three families living under the same roof. We have yet to lose one of the Corelle pieces to breaking or damage of any sort. Love their durability. Wish they had more interesting designs to choose from, but we've found some we like to fill out our daily use supply. You can't go wrong with Corelle for a houseful of people of all ages who may or may not be careful with the dishes. ... show more

I was a little worried about these plates after some of the reviews showed pictures of pixalated print and missing plates. However, upon receipt, I am not than please with their appearance! They are exactly what I'd hoped! I have four rough kids and they go through plates faster than I can replace them. This is why I'm giving the corelle a try. I'm hoping that they last longer than all the fancy patterned ceramic plates I've gotten from Wal-Mart and Costco. So far so good...and if you had similar concerns to mine, fear not!
