Description

Say hello to the Mini II FMH — our popular Mini travel-size guitar, but slightly bigger and with an extended 580mm (22 7/8”) scale length so it tunes perfectly to Standard E. Despite its small profile, the Mini II has a deeper body depth which creates a well-rounded tone that is close to a full-size nylon string guitar. Built with a flamed mahogany top, back and sides, the Mini II FMH has an exotic look and sounds mellow, soft and balanced.

  • Great little guitar for the price!
I grew up teaching myself to play guitar and played actively and in bands during my younger years. I collected several great guitars over the years, both acoustic and electric. Time passed and my career took other turns and I stopped playing for many years. Now retired, I went back to my great guitars and found, even with their great fast action, the steel string guitars were hard to start playing again after many years. As a lark, I bought this Cordoba nylon string guitar to see if it would be easier for me to get my dexterity back playing a nylon string guitar. I am impressed! It was easy to play AND it sounded pretty good. The fretboard is a little wider than I like, but still easy enough for my out of practice fingers to play. My goal is this guitar will help me regain my dexterity so, I can play my steel string guitars, but I have to say, this little guitar, out of the box, is fun to play! ... show more

  • Nice flame mahogany guitar
Good value for the money. The 12th fret intonation is a little flat. But it's a travel guitar for me after all. No fret sprout so happy with purchase.

  • Lack of quality control screwed up a great design
I like the design of this Cordoba Mini II FMH, compact, frets spacing and etc. The first arrived with an annoying buzz on the 5th string and all the fret copper bars were not de-burred. The sharp metal edges were sharp and may cut the left hand fingers moving up and down the neck. I returned it. The second one arrived with a tuning knob bent about 3 degrees making it hard to tune and it slipped with turning. I returned for another replacement but the policy as set up did not allow me to do that. So I had the money refunded. Then I went to the guitar center, had them opened up their inventories one by one until I found a reasonable quality one without sharp metal fret bars, without buzzing sound, and without crooked tuning knob. This guitar design all of them sound nasal, but I put up with it, because I couldn’t ask for more for the price. Cordoba should build this mini guitar with better sounding wood for better sustain and more punchy sound like the flemingco guitars. I would pay up to USD$800 for on of such a guitar. First, Cordoba in China must get the quality control in order!! ... show more

  • Perfect size for me
I've always found that standard sized classical guitars have too beefy of a neck to play comfortably. I've been playing a Fender nylon guitar for a while because the neck is much slimmer. I picked up a Yamaha guitalele as a travel guitar and I discovered a lot of new chords I could play on it that my hands couldn't reach on a full size guitar. The guitalele was too small to play some chords like the standard A-major so I bought this Cordoba mini instead. I absolutely love this thing! It's the perfect size for me and it's become the only guitar I play. The tension feels perfect. I have no trouble reaching any chords and it's the first time I feel like I can just play whatever I set my mind to with ease. I recommend this guitar to anyone who has medium sized hands. ... show more

  • Totally blown away!
I've purchased many guitars through Amazon both acoustic and electric. It's difficult buying an instrument when you can't physically see it, touch it and hear it. I've gotten some diamonds and some duds. This is a diamond. I took a chance and purchased used. Let me say I can't find a thing on this guitar to indicate it has been used. In fact I've gotten "new" instruments through Amazon in far worse condition. Having said all that I love the sound, the look and playability of this guitar. Love it! ... show more

  • Which mini to choose?
I have bought all three models (and returned one), so I guess I should say something about them. The basic model-MH version is a decent one. At this price point, it has nice sound and quality and it’s very portable. You don’t need to worry too much about it. The upgraded version-FMH has a very mellow sound and beautiful texture. If you do care about these points, even it’s at a much higher price, then you may choose this one. The ebony version, in my opinion, is a failure. It’s much more expensive, but the sound is very dry comparing to these manhagony models and previous mini versions. But if you do need a normal mini guitar tuned to EADGBE, with a little higher quality (solid spruce top, a Córdoba pickup with on-board tuner) than those manhagony ones, you may choose this one. I recommend the previous mini versions to these who care about quality most. They are extremely portable and have great sound. They are tuned to a much higher turning. But you can adjust it a little bit in your own way. I own a cordoba mini M which I tuned it 2 frets down and it sounds very mellow. ... show more

  • Humidity affects fret edges
When this guitar came to me the fret edges were like razors! However, now I don't think this is Cordoba's fault! I almost returned it but after it was with me a few weeks almost to the return window ended the wood expanded and the frets were perfect. I noticed that this got shipped from Phoenix. It must of been sitting in a hot, dry warehouse! This is the gamble of buying instruments from Amazon... I recommend to buy this from a music retailer or 3rd party seller who has kept the instrument properly humidified. It's very pretty and has a nice sound, love the size and wide neck, so much easier to hold and play than a standard guitar. Just keep your expectations in line with the price. ... show more
