I think it’s working but don’t know how to tell when gas canister is empty. Device doesn’t attach tightly to the stopper so holding and pouring the wine is very clumsy. I kept looking online because I thought I must be missing something but it’s the way it’s designed.

I bought this because I cannot drink a bottle of wine before it goes back and that is money down the drain. I have used the Coravin Pivot several times on very old bottles of wine that usually need to be consumed within 24hours or less and it kept the wine drinkable for 2 weeks........I have not gone past that point. I think it will easily pay for itself. I have bought this for a friend as a gift which I usually do not do unless I think it work meet their need and be used. ... show more

I was so hopeful for this product as I like to enjoy a glass of wine without having to worry about finishing the whole bottle so it doesn't go bad. Unfortunately, I find this to be no better than recorking the bottle. Wine tastes like vinegar after a few days. I'm mystified by all of the good reviews - perhaps I am using it wrong but it seems pretty straightforward. ... show more

    • Best for bottles that have a synthetic cork.

Certainly not as good as the original at preserving wines, but it’s only supposed to be for your "daily tipple" which uses the synthetic corks which cannot be used with the original Coravin. I bought it to use with My bottle of Carpano Antica Vermouth, which I never finish before it turns. This extends the life of the vermouth longer than the 6 weeks I usually get in the refrigerator with a tight stopper, and with better quality. I would love Coravin to make the same type stopper with the needle friendly top they use for bottles with screw tops! Those use much less argon per pour, and give a nicer pour than the pivot, and extend the life of the vermouth to months rather than weeks. ... show more
