After back surgery this was a lifesaver, simply for the ice gel pack feature. I was able to use a variety of other ice pack sizes we already had in the brace pocket. It was nice to have several ways of securing and tightening the brace. I definitely felt supported and the ice pack pressed firmly to my back. Initially I felt like I needed support with the plastic insert but I never used it. The plastic insert created more discomfort, it didn’t shape well to my back.
