These came in handy when I needed a convient way to cool water in my medical device. The cooler holds water and ice but after shoulder surgery, the ice is inconvient. I slide 2 of the frozen blockes into the water and the water gets cold enough to relax the pain. I think they will work well in a lunch box because they are flat. We often take a smaller cooler when we take a car trip. These were great to put between things in the small cooler to spread out the cold. They don’t stay frozen as long but the don’t take up much space and don’t add a lot of weight to the cooler.
