This lamp is massively tall and dangerously unstable. It stands 74 inches high (with the light piece vertical) and even with the parts screwed tightly together, the lamp sways terribly and will fall over if your floors are the least uneven or slanted. In fact, the bottom piece that screws into the base is the one connection that wasn't tight, so that might worsen the problem. And the pole is just too thin to make for a steady lamp. It went together easily, and the touch control on the pole works fine, but the remote is useless. I couldn't get it to "match" with the touch control panel, whatever that means. I don't even think it was working, and the battery is a funky size that you'd have trouble replacing, about half the length of a regular AA or AAA. (See photo.) There are essentially three tones of light, although the directions indicate you should also be able to dim. Couldn't make that happen. I need light at night when I do webinars and don't have the natural light from my office windows. Even if this lamp worked well and was steady, I couldn't use it. It's too tall and casts light downward, which isn't flattering. And, even if I wanted to use it, it's so unsteady that my cats would knock it over in a second. There's no way I'm taking it apart and putting it back together again between webinars. ... show more

Required around 10 minutes to assemble. Base is a decent weight and holds the light steady, it is difficult to push over. Bundling is acceptable, arrives in a little box, with post in 6 pieces.     • UL Approved - adjusts from warm soft light to very bright daylight
Consciot MF18228 LED Floor, 30W 2400LM Modern Torchiere Lamp with 3 Modes(Warm to Cool) I needed a light to replace a halogen torchiere lamp we used off and on for years. That light would get so hot on the brightest setting, it would turn itself off. This Consciot lamp isn't anywhere near as nice looking as the lamp it replaced, but the price is reasonable and it's UL approved. Our living room doesn't always have enough light. I was looking for a lamp that would get very bright for the times we needed extra light, also have softer settings, as well as, being dimmable & UL approved. This light checks all my requirements. It can light the entire 15x22' room. (5000k is very bright) It comes with a remote control.and also can be controlled using the touch control panel on the lamp. The remote is magnetic and is supposed to attach to the lamp but always slips down. Maybe it'd work better on a filing cabinet. The only thing I don't like is the huge wall brick. Well, also, I think the base could be a little bigger. The lamp is fairly stable though, but could stand to be more stable. (did you see what I did there? 😁) So far, so good; I like it. ... show more

    • A great floor lamp for tight spots. Even better with remote control.
What I enjoy about this floor lamp: - It has a small footprint. Great for tight corners. The base is heavy and wide enough to keep the lamp steady. - Lamp head tilts 90 degrees. Pointing straight up, it's fantastic for lighting up the whole room with a bright diffused light with minimal shadows. Tilt downward for more directional light. It's good for when extra light is needed. - The remote is a huge benefit. It makes working the lamp easier and faster than using the lamp's touchpad. There are separate controls for brightness, warmth, and power on the remote versus short/long touches on the physical lamp touchpad. The remote control is definitely a big plus. - While pretty, this lamp's low profile design does not call attention to itself. Ours is tucked away in a tight corner between a bed and a wall closet yet its slim design doesn't make the corner seem cluttered or crowded. I do have any negatives to say about this floor lamp. It is beautiful in its design and function. It works great. The remote definitely is a big plus. It makes using the lamp so much easier. We love it. ... show more

    • Novel and Functional
I like the novelty of the lamp - a thin circular disk that can point to the side or up at the ceiling. I like to point all of my lamps at the ceiling, so this one fits right in. You can select the color temperature and the intensity from the touch switch on the post, or from the remote control. Both work perfectly. The remote is intuitive, but you might have to read the instructions to know how to use the touch switch (I did). It has a simple, understated look, and it works like a champ. Although I could not test it, since the remote can be re-paired with the lamp, I figure that it can be paired with more than one lamp. If so, you would be able to control multiple lights with one remote. The remote is magnetic, but it is slick, so when you stick it to a ferrous surface, it will slide down if the surface is smooth (low friction). I stick it to the bottom of the lamp head with no problem. The design is pleasing and it functions perfectly. ... show more
