We got this bed frame for our 7 year old with the intent of keeping it until she is 12-13. First off- it is HEAVY. We recommend a dolly or two people to lift or move it so you don’t damage it or other things in your house trying to move it. If you are completely solo, lay out a rug and drag the rug. Main concerns people mentioned were that it was hard to assemble and that it wasn’t very sturdy. We disagree with both. For us, it was 1 adult all the way, a second adult helping occasionally and our 7 year old as a side kick to the main adult on the project. Really, a single adult could probably handle it fine aside from moving the box as a whole. Everything arrived in excellent condition and VERY early (3 days before predicted delivery- a surprise with COVID19 causing delivery disruption). The half loft space is enough for a few bean bags and a play area for our 7 year old and the 4 year old sibling. It is a cute play space that expands the amount of room given that there is a full sized bed inside the space. It fits a regular full size mattress on top. The slat bed design is much sturdier than we expected, with each slat screwed into the frame. It says it holds 500lbs. We haven’t tested that limit. But our 7 year old and 4 year old have been up there together (total 85lbs). I plan to be up there for bedtime story with our 7 year old (would be about 215lbs combined). We have made it abundantly clear that they are not allowed to jump on the bed. Given that are kids are small, I actually think this bed might handle it- but of course- I do NOT want to challenge this! The first one arrived and the package was torn up and as we expected a part of the bed frame was split in half. Called amazon and new one sent immediately. Bought this for my ten year old daughter. Yes the wood is cheap, it will dent easily, but the entire bed frame is actually sturdy and looks so cute in her room. She loves the bed and I actually really like it too. Her brother who is 8 now wants one. i would buy this again, well I did buy another for my son. It’s on its way. Update: We bought another bed like this one. Assembly is fine, definitely need two people at least, to hold things together. Only issue we found was the screws that hold the ladder to the frame were missing, the directions didn't include this step and supply list didn't even have them listed. If this second bed had been our first we would not have realized what is missing, just that something was missing, it was some screws with sleeves. The first bed was also missing some plugs to hide holes in the wood, but that wasn't a big deal, but the screws for the ladder is an issue. Amazon did provide a discount for the item, but it was either replace the entire bed or a discount. We will try to find the replacement screws. ... show more

This bed was very easy to assemble, it’s very sturdy, i love the color and there’s so much storage space underneath! I’ll start with the pros, as always. The first is ease of assembly! I’m a 19 year old female of average build and I was able to put this together in about three hours by myself with just a screwdriver. I did choose to leave the railing off because, well I’m 19 I don’t think I need a railing! This came with no broken pieces. One piece did have some cosmetic damage but I might have done that so, take it as you will. For sturdiness, I’ve thrown myself onto this bed repeatedly and it barely even shakes. My dogs jump on it, I jump on it, and it holds through it all. As for storage space, I really feel like I can fit more in my small room now! Beds take up a lot of space, so it’s nice to have some under bed space with this one. There aren’t many cons honestly. The bed comes with a little allen key to put it together but I honestly suggest getting yourself a nice ratcheting screwdriver with a hex head and a philips head. You’ll need the screwdriver anyway, one is not included. This bed is also very heavy and awkward to move, so I suggest building it where you plan on keeping it. Overall, amazing purchase, I’m glad I made it. The bed is everything I expected. If you’re looking to buy this bed, do it, just make sure you have a good screwdriver :) ... show more

This bed frame is absolutely gorgeous. Putting it together, however, is a completely different story😅. I bought this for me and my boyfriend to sleep in because our air mattress finally gave out. My dad helped us put it together, and it was not easy at all. It took him two days, even with both sets of extra hands to help. He told me that I should get three more slats for extra support, and two more legs to put in the middle on the bottom at the Home Depot. For reference, I am just under 5’3 and weigh around 236lbs, and my boyfriend is at least 6’5 and weighs roughly 210lbs. We got an 8 inch full mattress for the frame which is about 53lbs. It’s holds us pretty well, but we will be purchasing a few more slats and legs for extra support. The ladder opening is quite small, but it shouldn’t be a problem(if it is, i saw someone on here purchase little steps to make it easier to get in the bed). There is 30 inches of space from the floor to the wooden slats and it is very cozy (my dad says that the coolest part was laying under it because it feels like your in a treehouse). You could definitely fit another mattress under the frame and string some lights up through the supports. I could not use pink wooden supports that go on the sides of the railings as the seller must have forgotten to drill holes. You could most likely drill your own holes and put them on and it should be fine. There’s also a few small holes on the sides of the ladder that I cannot figure out the reason for, but it does not affect the use of the ladder as far as I’m aware. I strung christmas lights through the railings on the side and it looks fantastic. I measured the height of the frame itself and it matches up to what is advertised. All in all, this bed is phenomenal. I am absolutely awestruck by how much I love it. I do suggest buying a few extra wooden slats and legs for more support, though. ... show more
