The color on the Amazon color chart showed the red as more of a maroon. However, the red is definitely red. I had hoped for the maroon as shown. The rest of the bedspread color was accurate. It is thinner than I had hoped and the sheets are okay but definitely not as deep pocket as advertised. They are more like 12"-14 ". The sheets and pillow cases are comfortable but I haven't washed them yet so I am not sure how durable they are or how they fit after laundering.
