Bought this to replace an Eddie Bauer packable rain jacket that I had. It’s definitely comparable except the stitching doesn’t have any sealing over it. I like how the hood folds into the collar though. The sleeves are a little too long on me but the adjustable velcro straps on the sleeves help with that. I’m 5’4”, 145lbs, chest 41”, waist 35” for reference. Size chart is accurate and it’s still loose enough layering. I’ll have to update with how it handles out in the elements. ... show more

This jacket is very lightweight and unlined. Breathes ok. I have not yet tried it in the rain, so I’m not yet sure how water resistant it is. The fit is a little off. I ordered medium, which is my usual size, and it was a bit small in the waist. Luckily there are darts in the back that I could easily release and now it’s fine, except I don’t think I would wear a thick sweater underneath. The arms are extremely long. When I put my arms at my side, they hang past my fingertips. They do have Velcro on the cuffs, but still annoying. Overall, it’s fine. I had another Columbia rain jacket I used for years that was lined, and seemed to be a bit better constructed. That was probably a different model. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I originally ordered a small and it was much too tight in the arms when wearing it over a hoodie or a jacket, I re-ordered a medium and it’s a much better fit. I like how small it gets! You can easily toss this into a gear bag and not be worried about when it rains. I did wear it out in the rain one day and it held up for a few hours, however if it’s a total downpour, I don’t think this would save you for long. That is the trade-off between a packable, rain jacket and a big bulky heavy duty rain jacket. For touring around Scotland and in and out of intermittent weather, I think this would be great! If you’re going somewhere where it’s going to be pouring rain every single day get a heavier, thicker jacket, but then you have to sacrifice weight and space.
