I had to return this bedspread because it was raspberry not a darker maroon as shown in the photo. It is excellent quality though, and the material isn't what I'd call heavy rather firm, not really "light." If the color is right for you, then you made a good purchase. I am waiting to see how the company responds to giving me a credit back. They charge $9 to ship it back and Amazon charged $7 shipping, so basically, if it doesn't work, you are out $16 right off the bat. Then when you call their customer service you get sent to another country and the person doesn't understand English and tells you to call Amazon. If you asked to be transferred to an American, well they put you on hold until you fall asleep. You get the message that that wasn't going to happen! So, Amazon says to call the company. When you get your product, a catalogue comes with it showing the bedspread for $12 less than whay you paid on Amazon. And wala, a phone number for customer service which sends you back to --- I don't know -- UBANGI -- PHILLIPINES, PAKISTAN?? I won't buy from them again for that reason. I think we know why companies are saying Americans don't want to work! It's because they are hiring in foreign countries and using that for an excuse! I'll post another review and let you know how I made out with the return. ... show more

I gave it three stars for light weight because I think it's more of a medium weight (which is what I wanted). My mom saw mine and wanted me to order one for her too. The color is beautiful. Highly recommend.

It’s lightweight and ideal for summer. but also perfect for laying in colder weather. We have this on two beds in our early 1800s farmhouse, and we love how it contributes to the historical vibe going on there. Does take time to dry! But have had no problem with shedding.
