  • Fits perfectly.
Fits perfectly on my grill. I only had the griddles and wanted to be able to use a skillet to blacken. Works great for that. Nice and sturdy for a cast iron skillet. Would buy again.

  • adds versatility
Its great to have the versatility this insert provides. With the grill, griddle, and now stovetop insert It feels like I can cook anything on my roadtrip grill. I wouldnt fry a turkey or put a huge pot on it, but for pans and medium pots it works really well.

  • Good for at home and on the road
I love this grill. I have used it on the road with one of the disposable propane tanks and at home with a large refillable propane tank (had to buy an extra propane line to use with the large propane tank, but that was easy enough). I love the 3 separate burner elements and the various cooking surface attachments for different cooking needs. I can grill meat with the (included) standard grill, make eggs and pancakes with the (not included) griddle, and boil water with the (not included) stove attachment. And the pullout trays just make everything easier. Only thing is change is that I'd make the lock which keeps the lid closed more sturdy. Even when it's completely locked, I can pretty easily pull the lid open. This would make driving with it while offroading a potential mess. On the highway, it stays closed, but only when locked. If unlocked, the lid comes open and spills the grill surfaces all over. ... show more

  • Heavy duty, quality design/assembly.

  • A Versatile Addition - Stove Grates are Great
Coleman "Roadtrip" grills have round burners like the old Coleman white gas camp stoves and similar to the round burners found in Coleman portable propane stoves. As some have noted, round burners are good for stoves but not so good for grills, therefore we think the best use for the Roadtrip grill is to use it as a stove first, and as a grill second. The Coleman Stove Grates turns your Roadtrip "grill" into a "stove" and they work great. As a portable propane camp stove hooked up to a twenty pound propane tank the Coleman Roadtrip Grill with two "Stove Grates" over the burners works exceptionally well. The Stove Grates are heavy steel with wide ring spacing giving lots of support for pots and pans and lets through plenty of heat for cooking. The Roadtrip grill puts out a lot of heat when necessary and by turning the burner control towards "off" you can bring the flame down to a bare simmer - but read on about "the wind" and how it effects the burners. One problem with the Coleman Roadtrip Grills is the height of the burners makes them susceptible to any wind that distorts the flame and threatens to blow out the burner, so set up your grill where there's some protection from the wind, or add some wind blocking. ... show more

  • Perfect stove top for your Road Trip grill. It's an essential accesory
I bought this (obviously) to go with my Road Trip grill. It performs 100% as advertised. Pretty nice to have a grill and stove in one unit. Coleman recommends not using the grill grates as a stove top, so this is the ticket. I question whether anything would be harmed by just using the grill top, but since the grill grate soaks up a lot of heat, this is no doubt much more efficient. I just spent several days at 5000 feet. It already takes forever to boil water at that altitude, so why make it any harder? I do think it's way overpriced (I spent $23.44). But I'm not the sort to deduct a star based on price, unless the item is poor quality to begin with. But I'm thinking a pair for $35 would be more like it. Or just charge more more the grill and include the Swaptop. But that wouldn't be as profitable. Oh well. Official Seal of Approval applied. ... show more
