Top Amazon Reviews

  • A lot of the bad reviews are due to user error
So, when I first got it, I couldn't get it to pump water. I had to watch a tutorial on YouTube because the manual was useless. 1: Make sure the knob on the right side is pointing upward. 2: After you fill the water bin and put the cover back on it and you've put your espresso grounds in the portafilter and tamped them and put the handle in and it's all ready to pull a shot, you press the power button. 3: Don't press or do anything else. Instead, wait for the lights to stop blinking 4: Once the lights stop blinking, don't press any buttons. Rather, turn the right knob toward the front. 5: If you are pulling a single shot, you will have to manually shut the machine off. If you are pulling a double shot, it will shut itself off. To shut it off, you can press the power button or turn the knob back to facing up. To steam milk, once the power is on, press the button to the right of the power button and wait for it to stop blinking. Turn the knob toward the back and it'll squirt some water, that's old, cooled water. Purge it until it begins to spray steam. Now turn the knob back to the top and place the wand in your milk for steaming. People who complain that it eventually starts to leak are failing to clean the machine. This is a 20 bar machine, the pressure it outputs causes some of the grounds to splash onto the underside. Before you place the handle with the portafilter back into the machine, wipe down the under side of where the portafilter goes to get all the left over coffee out. Of course once it leaves the machine it becomes the perfect 9 bars necessary, but the point is it's under high pressure when it pumps out and that causes a few of the grounds to splash up. So it needs cleaning after every use or before every use. Preferably after because you don't want mold growing on the machine, but if you use it as frequently as I do, before every use is also acceptable because there won't be enough time for anything to grow. Also make sure to clean the portafilter and handle of any loose grounds along the rim before replacing it as those can damage the gasket. Lastly the button on the left side of the power button is for simply making hot water, like for making hot cocoa or what I abuse it for: instant ramen... ... show more

  • great espresso machine for beginners or office
if you want to make your own espresso or latte type coffees with steamed milk, you can’t beat this machine at the sale prices. This type of espresso machine is sold with different names, but the machine looks exactly like another brand i bought during black friday sales. It operates the same with a knob and three buttons, one button on the top front center is to turn the machine on. Once the lights stop flashing, once you pack your coffee and put your cup underneath, just turn knob on the side forward and it will start to dispense hot water. It comes with double, single and i'm not sure what the 3rd cup is but it looks small like a single shot. Once the coffee stops, turn the knob back to center position, and if the front lights blink, wait till it stops then select the clouds (steam), turn the knob to back position to steam the milk. If you select the other button with the 3 water drops, it will dispense hot water to make say an americano when you turn the knob back. So overall, easy to use, and easy to clean, great for making a latte at work or at home. ... show more

  • Good coffee, but...
The machine makes very good coffee, but the water holder in the back leaks badly sometimes and we can't find the source.

  • Got this as a gift
So is it barista style espresso? No but its not bitter and only a mess if you don't get the grind right. Makes ituch easier to clean up if you use the little paper filter covers. For the price point I think it's well worth the money as I'm not gonna throw a grand for one that is true espresso. The milk frother works well. I make a double. It turns itself off. I have not had the problem some have of it overflowing so maybe they solved that problem with newer units. I don't think the finish will hold up on the cup. The filters seem to be made of stainless but not the rest. I make sure to dry it well with a microfiber every time I go Noah with it. I have only made double shots. I've not tried the single nor the tiny one. I haven't come across the pods yet. I do wish it would have come with a little pot. ... show more

  • Porta Filter Handle comes off too easily
I bought this machine for my son for Christmas and I finally was able to give it to him. He loves the concept and it makes good espresso however the porta filter handle comes off too easily. Terrible design for it. That’s why it get a 4 star and not a 5 star. Other than that we are satisfied

  • Worked well short term then it broke HOWEVER, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WARRANTY SAVED ME!
I have been an ardent Coffee Gator fan. I have given their products to friends and family as gifts and generally have been quite pleased with their products. I purchased this espresso machine Feb. '22. I am not a regular drinker of espresso by any stretch. I have used this machine about 20 times with great success. This a.m. I met with catastrophe. While trying to brew an espresso the water came flooding out the bottom of the machine all over the counter top. I am a bit of a clean freak and clean the machine and parts after every use, since I leave it unused for a time. So I know it wasn't a clog causing the I really don't consider this a cheap machine, though it is drastically less expensive than the high end models so I was quite disappointed to have invested good money for such a short lived product. I contacted customer service and was completely bowled over by their concern and responsiveness!!! After some trouble shooting, it was determined that the unit needed to be replaced which they did without any hassle at all. I don't think that Rolls Royce could have provided any better service than Coffee Gator! I took one star off because of the break down, otherwise it is a 5 star all the way. ... show more

  • Amazing espresso machine!
This is my first and possibly last of these I will buy because it's that great if it will last that long! I use it almost every day to make my coffee and it is great for just me! Much cheaper than buying Starbucks!
